• Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.
Resolve customer complaints.
• Train employees in food knowledge & preparation, in service, sanitation, and safety
procedures.
• Observe and evaluate employee and work procedures to ensure quality standards and
service, and complete disciplinary write-ups.
• Inspect supplies, equipment, work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to
standards.
• Recommend measures for improving work procedures and employee performance to
increase service quality and enhance job safety.
• Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, to establish procedures to
alleviate these problems.
• Perform various financial activities such as cash handling, deposit preparation.
• Evaluate new products for usefulness and suitability.
• Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift.
• Providing a warm welcome for the guest to the restaurant and seating them at their
tables.
• Understanding menu content and keeping up to date with any menu changes.
• Making recommendations for the menu if requested.
• Up-selling events & promotions that go on in the restaurant.
• Ordering items that are needed for the operation during and after the shift.
• Training the new hostess and making sure they are up to restaurant standards.
• Making and implementing the floor plan for the shift.
• Assisting the manager in charge in checking tables to make sure the entire guests are
happy.

• Make appropriate suggestion of food and beverage to the guest.
