Design Engineer
Newly formed Komatsu Mining Corp was Joy Global and they make products for mining industry including hard rock. They specialize in underground products like Hybrid shovels, continuous miner, shuttle cars, Loaders, Conveyors and long wall cutters.
As a Design Engineer my Duties are
• Continuous Miner product development both Original equipment and aftermarket production
• Miners Product improvement and development.
• Review of miner technical specification, BOQ (Bill of Quantity) and drawings to determine cost effectiveness
• Hydraulic, water and lube schematics development and logic design.
• OH&S follow up and implementation
• Products Parts Numbers and BOMS entry to SAP and product hierarchy maintenance
• Certifications study and recommendation for Miner per MDG rules and regulations.
Project Planning & Estimation Engineer
PJL Group are a mechanical and engineering business improving processes & providing solutions and specialty services to the mining, earth moving, drilling & construction industries. As a Project planning and Estimation Engineer my duties are
• Planning for rebuild of earth moving equipment like DS14 (Sand Vick Drill), DR55 (Drill machine), 6020 (ATLAS Copco Truck), 8045B (CAT Front Loader).
• Work break down structure for each activity and monitoring on M1 and micro planner.
• Job loading to work centers and follow up.
• Scheduling of jobs and activities and efficiency improvement of the process flow.

As a Production engineer, I undertook the following activities
• Global Product Development of knife gate valves
• Designing and validation of design for slurry valve
• Coordination of industrial designers and liaising with manufacturing for production.
• Prototyping, testing, compliance, material selection for valve body, gate, gland box, bridge.
• Designed accessories like brackets, gates, bridges, valves body, up stands, cam, yoke, and flanges to suit application.
