# Core Control Room Operator Responsibilities

​Plant Operations & Monitoring: Efficiently operate, monitor, and control high-capacity HFO and Gas engine-based power plants (including MAN 18V28/32S and Wärtsilä W18V46GD / W20V34SG) via SCADA, DCS, WECS, WOIS, and WISE systems to ensure maximum production output and grid stability.

​Synchronization & Load Management: Execute safe plant start-ups, shutdowns, and smooth synchronization of generators with the national grid, precisely managing load sharing, frequency stability, and voltage regulation.

​Auxiliary & BOP Systems Control: Independently manage and monitor Balance of Plant (BOP) and critical auxiliary systems, including exhaust gas/auxiliary boilers, fuel/lube oil separators, air compressors, cooling systems, and expansion vessels.

​Emergency Response & Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense during plant upsets, responding swiftly to alarms, diagnosing technical incidents, and leading fault-finding processes using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to minimize downtime.

​Safety & Permit Management: Enforce strict compliance with EHS protocols and manage Safe Work Permits (SWP), actively supervising isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure zero-accident maintenance windows.

​Grid Coordination: Maintain seamless, real-time communication with national load dispatch centers (e.g., BPDB / Ministry of Electricity) to accurately fulfill power demand instructions and manage load variations.

​Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive daily, monthly, and annual operational reports, maintenance logs, shift handover notes, and immediate incident/fault reports for management review.

​Designation: Assistant Support Manager-Tech (Role: ERO & CRO)
​Control Room Operator (CRO)

Responsibilities:
​Plant Operations & SCADA Control: Monitored and controlled the operations of 18 Wärtsilä 18V46GD heavy fuel oil (HFO) engines using SCADA, WECS, WOIS, WISE, and ESS systems to maintain optimal plant performance.

​Synchronization & Grid Management: Executed safe engine start-ups, shutdowns, and smooth generator synchronization with the national grid, managing load sharing and frequency stability according to BPDB instructions.

​Electrical System Oversight: Conducted regular inspections of MV/LV rooms and Switchyards to ensure electrical stability, proper voltage regulation, and parameters alignment.

​Emergency Response & Troubleshooting: Responded effectively to critical alarms and abnormal conditions, performing fault finding and contributing to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to minimize plant downtime.

​Reporting & Documentation: Prepared accurate daily, monthly, and yearly technical reports, including instant fault logs and shift handovers.

​Engine Room Operator (ERO) & Auxiliary Systems Responsibilities:
​Auxiliary Systems Management: Directly operated and managed critical auxiliary equipment, including exhaust gas and auxiliary boilers, HFO/lube oil separators, radiators, and ventilation fans.

​Routine Maintenance & Top-ups: Safely handled regular field operations, including lube oil top-ups, governor oil filling, steam pressure control, and fresh water supply management.

​Safety & EHS Leadership: Enforced strict compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols, managing LOTO and PTW procedures during maintenance work.

​Emergency Drills: Conducted and organized routine safety drills (Fire, Gas leak, Electric shock) to train subordinates and enhance site emergency readiness.

​Designation: Jr. Assistant Support Manager-Tech (Role: ERO & CRO)

​Control Room Operator (CRO)
Responsibilities:

​Gas Engine Operations: Efficiently operated and monitored 3 Wärtsilä W20V34SG (24.3 MW) and Caterpillar gas engines (11 MW) via SCADA and control systems to ensure continuous power generation.

​Grid Coordination & Load Control: Maintained constant communication with BPDB (Bangladesh Power Development Board) to manage power demand, frequency stability, and voltage regulation during load changes.

​Electrical Watch-keeping: Conducted strict watch-keeping and monitoring of LV/MV rooms, DC systems, and Switchyards to ensure stable power delivery and electrical parameters.

​Fault Diagnosis: Monitored real-time engine parameters to prevent trips, responded to critical alarms, and assisted in fault-finding processes.

​Shift Documentation: Prepared daily operational logs, fault reports, and technical documentation to ensure accurate data transfer during shift handovers.

​Engine Room Operator (ERO) & Auxiliary Responsibilities:

​Field Operations & Top-ups: Managed essential engine room tasks, including lube oil top-ups, and maintaining correct fresh water supply levels for the engines.

​Auxiliary Systems Management: Supervised and operated critical plant auxiliaries, including fuel systems, radiators, ventilation fans, and expansion vessels.

​Safety Protocols & LOTO: Adhered strictly to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols, participating in equipment isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) for safe maintenance activities.

​Safety Drill Participation: Participated in and helped organize routine site safety drills (Fire, Gas leak, Electric shock) to maintain a high level of emergency preparedness among the team.
