ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for the overall safety performance of all workers in a specific job description
assigned.
* “Leading by example” sending a message “Safety is Value”.
* Implementation of HSE policy of the company along with the line of government HSE
regulations.
* Monitoring the implemented Permit to work system and for its effectiveness.
* Responsible for Induction Training for new employees orientation and tool box talks on
regular basis.
* Responsible for monitoring the daily and weekly inspection of plant and equipment and
recording them in an appropriate check list / forms.
* Coordinating and communicating all HSE related matters with line of organization in a
pleasant manner.
* Ensuring for proper scaffold system erecting and inspection of the same by competent
persons.
* Inspecting the Welfare facilities on daily basis, and advising the management on other
requirements and issues and resolving them in time.
* For areas that can be accessed by public, install safety measures and check them
periodically.
* Implements the safety policies and procedures of the company and other authorities such
as but not limited to Dubai Municipality Code of Practice in Building Construction, EHS
Health, Safety and Environment Regulations and Standards under Dubai World (Ports,
Customs and Free Zone Authority) and Safety Regulations in accordance with UAE Labor
Law.
* Initiate revision of existing forms/checklist for inspection of equipment and make necessary
forms for auditing and monitoring of safety at site, same thing with the inventory of the
equipments and accessories in line with the expiry of their third party certificates.
* Prepares in advance for the entry requirements of manpower, vehicle, and equipment at
working sites in compliance with policies and procedures by main contracting company not
to affect the flow of operations/activities especially during mobilization.
* Prepares emergency plan and procedures with proper coordination to the nearest hospital
and with the ambulance from main contracting company.
* Review and update the risk assessment of the project and gave an advice to the Project
manager for the preventive measures of the identified risks, and advise the same for the
contingency plan of the deficiencies made and/or noted from previous works or activities.
* Conduct safety induction and safety toolbox talks to all personnel and workers at the site
as standard norms and procedures at every construction project to meet their intended
objectives.
* Attended and represented the al TMEG Company to the safety meetings from main
contractor, client and with other sub-contractor for proper coordination and implementation
of safety.
* Issues warning citations to those not complying with safety policies and regulations and
impose penalty/fines to those doing unnecessary/unsafe act redundantly which creates to
near miss conditions.
* Establish the HSE Positive Culture within the project team from client to sub- contractor by
making and ensuring effective communication with all levels of project personals.
* Review Incident/accidents data for trends and areas of systematic weakness within the
department.
