In details design phase; to review technical standards, structural alternatives for the superstructure of the steel bridges, the preliminary engineering design. To correct and review all of the available existing data. To conducted the detailed design for the superstructure of the steel bridges. To prepared all necessary design drawings, the technical specifications. To estimate the work quantities.
In construction supervision; to review the proposal submitted by the contractor, all of contractors working drawings. To check shop works and tests of contractors/suppliers. To carry out field inspections of the works and exercise control of construction procedures to ensure compliance with the drawing and specifications, to inspect the construction method, equipment to be used, survey and measure the work out put performed by the contractors, carry out the necessary inspection prior to the issuance of a taking over certificates. Monitor the material incorporated in the work, the materials stored at the site, and the contractor's manpower and equipment. To check and certify as-built drawings, prepare construction completion reports. To provide periodic or continuous inspection services during defect notification period. To provide technical training, prepare the operation and maintains plan. Attend and manage weekly, monthly, and other progress meetings held at the site as required. The projects are implementing under FIDIC MDB Harmonized Edition 2010 (Red Book).

Measurements of the completed works as are necessary to verify quantities claimed for payment by the contractor

Supervise contractor’s piling of wharves and bridges, ensuring quality assurances and specification are adhered to. Check and certify stages of construction of bridges, wharves, Jetty with method statement. Ensure that slump and compression tests of concrete are carried out for every batch of concrete. Prepare monthly progress reports and hold monthly site meetings on contract progress. Provide training on quality assurance and site supervision of wharves and bridges contracts to national works supervisors. Report to Team Leader for general project management requirements and to the engineer under the contract for contract matters.
Checking and approval of shop drawings for piles, pile caps, pier shafts, pier caps, Elastomeric bearings, abutments, waterproofing and test pile etc. Checking and approval of method statements for concreting of the above said structural members, Pre-cast segments casting for Segmental bridges, bearings installation, concrete repairs, waterproofing, cracks repair, Loads and other test on piles etc. Design drawings and Particular specifications review. Issuing NCR to contractor, reviewing and maintaining the records of corrective actions taken. Post-tensioning system review both transverse and longitudinal. Pre-cast yard for 2 Nos. Segmental Bridges inspection and scrutiny of the equipments (tower cranes, gantry cranes, casting cells, rebar jigs, etc.) Laisioning with other Engineer’s to ensure the implementation of correct QA/QC procedures in construction. Checking of bridges construction activities (piles, pile caps, Water proofing works, pier shafts, pier caps: rebar’s, formwork, concreting etc) at site to ensure the work to be as per approved contract documents, shop drawings and method statements.
