Assistant Manager. Data and IP network Operations
The Telenor IP/MPLS network provides complete connectivity to all 2G and 3G network nodes and charging and OSS systems. In addition all access level connectivity between BTS, NodeBs and BSC/RNC is integrated over MPLS and MPLS-TP.
I am responsible for network operations of Telenor Pakistan’s IP/MPLS network which includes nationwide deployment of ZTE routers and switches in more than 25 cities all over Pakistan. In addition I am also responsible for smooth operation of the Internet Gateway Network, web caching, and content delivery networks. May job responsibilities are:
1. Ensuring optimized network monitoring of IP/MPLS network in coordination with the NOC team
2. Planning and performing rectifications to relieve network congestion issues and network risks
3. Optimizing the Internet Gateway Bandwidth and ensuring smooth load balancing over all gateways
4. Verification of planned activity procedures and implementing planned activities within assigned timelines
5. Resolution of all related network issues in coordination with vendor teams
6. Financial planning of operational costs, preparing financial forecasts and presenting budgetary reports
7. Team management of IP Operations team, acquiring and training resources

Working in the design, planning and implementation team of the Network product line at Huawei technologies, I am leading a team of engineers responsible for technical design and end of end delivery of IP/MPLS projects involving Network products of Huawei. I am responsible for project delivery work including but not limited to:
1. Supporting bidding/presales and solution of network products and solutions
2. Resource management, requirement analysis, evaluations and new recruitments for projects
3. Cost analysis and calculation for project rollout part
4. Equipment ordering and procurement for equipment related to network projects
5. Development of Low-level technical designs and finalization of designs with customers
6. Equipment delivery to customer sites, hardware installations and configurations
7. Development of testing methodology with getting acceptance from customers for products
8. Performing redundancy tests and obtaining customer acceptances for solutions
9. Issuance and record keeping of payments to sub-contractors for works outsourced to them
10. Regular progress reporting and issue tracking related to all rollout projects
11. Technical trainings for Huawei teams and sub-contractor teams for technical improvement
12. Management of all technical issues arising during project rollout, and coordination with TAC and
13. Technical review of all activities, scripts and execution plans and providing support
14. Customer relationship management for team building

Assistant Manager-IP CORE Network (Jun’11-Oct’11)
I Lead the CORE MPLS team comprising of 4-5 CORE engineers, and was responsible for operational maintenance and smooth running of the network and its Internet and VPN services. I was also responsible for ensuring network security, and developing a security strategy, policy and practices for the company.
I developed test cases and performed acceptance tests for equipment of various vendors (Alcatel for GPON, Tellabs for SDH, various vendors for CPEs)
I oversaw responsibility of new installations in Datacenter, managed power, cooling, and connectivity issues
Team Lead - Enterprise Network (Jan’10-Feb’11)
I also had the additional responsibility of supervising the operations of the enterprise network, which provides data, voice and video services to the corporate users with the organization. I took the lead and started the redesign of entire network topology to make it more efficient and resiliant and also performed activities to upgrade hardware and software without creating excessive downtime. I also did capacity planning and security policy implementation
Network Engineer- IP CORE Network (Jul’08-May’11)
As a Network engineer I was responsible for various activities related to network operation and maintenance. My work included configuration of various protocols such as IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, AToM, Layer 3 VPNs, OSPF and Ethernet switching.
I also made visits to customer premises for service configurations, technical activities and testing of services and was also responsible for maintaining the core network sites and supervising all new rollout and expansion on these sites.
Network Support Engineer-Technical Assistance Center (Dec’07-Jul’08)
I worked as a technical support representative in the technical assistance center (TAC) of Nayatel pvt Ltd. My responsibility was providing technical support to customers over the phone to resolve technical issues and create and track trouble tickets for technical problems.
Worked in Network Monitoring system (NMS), Digital CrossConnect (DXX) and DWDM (Dense wavelength division multiplexing) departments.
Programming web applications using ASP and MS SQL server on back; HTML, javascript and CSS on front end.
