Project Description: eFMT is called Enhanced Fleet Management Tool. It basically deals with Fleet Management which in turn means leasing of gas turbines on long term contracts. Currently the customer (Siemens Energy) is using discrete tools (excel based reports, legacy tools) to maintain these contracts. Since the legacy tools and the underlying database is reaching its limitation, they felt the need to have a better solution. Therefore SAP was selected. The older set of tools was simply called Fleet Management Tools. The newer approach is called Enhanced Fleet Management Tools (the word Enhanced is added here) . In short it means the existing tools and processes of the FMT (fleet management) have to be mapped into SAP.
The modules involved are CS, FI/CO, MM, PP, PS,
The new tool has front end which will be based on Net weaver and developed using webDynpro ABAP. There is a separate team which is doing this WEBUI part. This team is called the WEBUI team and they are mainly responsible for doing the frontend design. There is also an ABAP team which will create the interfaces to fetch the data and give it to the WEBUI front end. I am currently supporting the ABAP team.
