Volunteer temp in the Total Quality Management Department. Covered aspects and assisted senior quality coordinator in: risk management, data collection, chart audits, performance improvement projects, conducting environmental rounds/tracers, as well as development of clinical guideline audit tools.
Covered aspects of: quality and performance improvement principles, indicators and projects, data collection tools and patient safety.
Established new laboratory performance indicators (according to CAP standards), presented OVR and performance indicators awareness sessions to all lab staff, initiated a Point of Care Testing performance improvement project, initiated performance indicator data collection tools.
Working closely with the TQM director on aspects mediating performance improvement projects, preparation towards JCI accreditation, data collection/analysis, adverse event risk identification and analysis, initiated workshops on performance improvement tools to all hospital staff.
Ensure that lab policies & procedures are followed by all lab members
Writing grant proposals and project progress reports
Performing experiments (cell culture, in vivo and on the bench) and data analysis
Presenting data in scientific conferences
Organizing, updating and maintaining lab protocols and inventories
Train new lab members
Placing orders for all lab supplies/equipment
Supervising all machines and equipment in the CRSL
Assisting/teaching students from the Physics, Biology and Chemistry departments
Assisting the CRSL Director in managerial tasks
Placing orders for items/reagents needed for proper daily function of the lab
