Major achievements:
• Local implementation of relevant Daimler R&D IT System
Transfer of the Research & Development IT systems and procedures from Germany to Japan. This included the
implementation of new development procedures, the local
installation of IT systems and the integration of local systems.
• Standardization and promotion of 3D methods
The new 3D approach replaced the former 2D methods and procedures. This required a fundamentally new thinking for more
than 1500 engineers. We organized the top management
support, information material, town halls and road shows for all
engineers.
• Supplier survey
Due to the high-context language, the relationships with the suppliers were not documented. We processed an inquiry with all
suppliers concerning their collaboration, processes and communication and optimized the supply of R&D IT solutions.
• Design standards
Over the years, the R&D area defined and collected design
standards on paper base without any common format. All these
documents were hidden in cabinets and archives. This project
developed an approach for gathering and changing these
standards into a corporate format.
• Process Optimization
Based on the new standards, we coordinated the adaption of the business processes in R&D and PE.

This was a light approach to Project management based on the needs of the Japanese IT organization. It included the
development, adjustment, integration into the regulatory
framework of MMC and the promotion of the methods and procedures.
• General Business & IT Agreement
With this approach, we standardized the cooperation between
Business office and IT. It consisted of an explicit agreement that
defined roles and scope of responsibility for major partners.
• IT Security Audit
My department planned, realized the RFP process concerning an IT Security Audit at MMC and coordinated it (with KPMG)
• eLearning Platform
We developed an eLearning approach with external suppliers.
This consisted of a planning approach and the requirement for the implementation of eLearning software at MMC.
• Standardized IT Requirement Specification
We created a standard for the of IT requirement specification.
This included all relevant aspects from user functions to IT
interfaces.

This committee consisted of representatives of all German plants and temporary international guests twice a year in Stuttgart. In
this group, I coordinated the development of further
