Basic purpose and objectives of this position:
Assigned to the Sedco714 - Five yearly SPS upgrade and repair. Project value $65.6 Million. Also assigned as Project Manager to the intermediate DNV upgrade of both the Rather & the J.W.McLean which had a 3 week window within Invergordon Ship Yard to complete required works. Required to manage all aspects of the yard upgrade as well as manage the crew & workforce during the term when the rig is docked. I was also involved in upgrades of the Galaxy 1 and Galaxy 4 Jack-up upgrades while stationed at Invergordon. The J.W.McLean Project completed within budget and with no recordable incidents. Project value $11.2 Million. Rather Project completed within budget and with one recordable incident. Project value $14.5 Million.

Activities: Co-ordinate all assigned workscopes, including: completion of design studies, preparation of cost estimates, offshore management visits as required, co-ordination and management of design including drafting, calculations and analysis, Oversee the preparation and issue of workpacks, specifications, ordering and expediting of materials, co-ordination of fabrication, implementation of HAZID & HAZOP meetings. Completion of final documentation/certification, as well as monitor and control workpack schedule and costs.

Basic purpose and objectives of this position:
Operation and control
Take responsibility at supervisory level for executing the project in accordance with Client's contract and Seadrill Engineering (SE) quality management system. Act as SE's single point of contact with external and internal Clients, In co-operation with the Senior Discipline Engineer (SDE), ensure that the assigned Project Engineer (PE) has the competence necessary for managing his project. Ensure that all changes that must be co-ordinated are clarified within agreed time limits. Maintain contact with PE's and SDE. Identify and communicate needs and expectations from Clients. Inform Client and SE local operation manager on consequences of deviations and changes.


Economy
Take responsibility at supervisory level for budget on rig/platform and/or projects. Ensure all resources are according to budget and planned activities. Requisition from PE if reports show budget overrun. Review requirements from PE regarding resource needs (see if requirements are necessary and adequate. Administer project expenses and income and request substantiating information from PE when this is deemed necessary.
Contracts
Ensure that contract requirements according to planned activities are met for contracts with Clients and suppliers
Verify that all resources are delivered according to contracts. Verify that scope of work and other terms are in accordance with Seadrill's and Client's requirements. Ensure conformity of contract execution through contact with Client.
Reporting
Follow routines specified in contract and in Seadrill Engineering (SE) quality management system. Report resource usage to Client and local Operations Manager. Verify that documentation preparation follows the plan established for this purpose. Update on a continuous basis the monthly status report, which is sent out after the previous month's invoicing. On the basis of input from Project Managers, keep updating the weekly report that is to be presented to the local Operations Manager.
