As a General Scope Nurse, I am task to do all the nurse’s responsibilities in a medical center set up that offers consultations and treatment in all major medical, surgical and dental disciplines, lab investigations, X-Ray and other diagnostics as well as referrals.
As a General Scope Nurse we required to:
1. know Immediate Life Support, Fast and Accurate Assessment Skills which are essential for the proper management of every patient.
2. record information regarding the patient's medical history, current health status and symptoms the patient is experiencing as well as what tests and treatments are prescribed as a result of the patient's examination.
3. collect general patient information such as medical history, allergies, current medications, reason for his visit and other pertinent information.

4. take vital signs of the consulting patient.
5. review drug samples to ensure they have not exceed the expiration date.
6. label sample drugs and educates patients and relatives of medication administration as ordered.
7. maintain medical records and appointments.
8. document interventions implemented.
9. advise patients of health maintenance and disease preventions.
10.post surgical care and wound care.
11. perform other duties as may be assigned.
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Description:
As PACU nurse, I am tasked to do all nurse’s duties and responsibilities in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit which was designed to care all patients who undergone post anesthesia or post procedural surgery either done by general anesthesia, general endotracheal tube anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, regional anesthesia, conscious sedation, nerve blocks and local anesthesia who needs constant monitoring. Its primary goal is to care and assist the patient in recovering to safe physiologic level and homeostasis after having received an anesthetic agent or having undergone surgical procedure. As a PACU nurse, we required to know
1. Basic Life Support, Emergency Triage and Fast and Accurate Assessment skills which are essential for the proper management of every patient who underwent post anesthesia or post procedural surgery.
2. Administration of emergency drugs and medications in conjunction with the treatment ordered by the physician.
3. To assist the patient’s recovery and prevent complications from anesthesia induction.
4. Provision of better airway management techniques and physiologic support by administering oxygen therapy, proper suctioning, bagging and preventing aspirations.
5. We monitor neurologic condition such as level of consciousness, orientation, responsiveness and offer reassurance.
6. We observe for the need of pain therapy such as administration of analgesics and epidural infusions as ordered by the physician.
7. Deliver Advance cardiac Life Support protocols together with the physician.
8. We do circulatory assessment and maintain hemodynamic of the patient.
9. We monitor and evaluate anaesthetic agents inducted. Its actions, precautions and side effects.
10. We asses and evaluate medications given. Its actions, effectiveness and side effects.
11. To be prepared to handle and manage patients resulting from accidents, disaster and calamities.
