IHC (Intermediate Holding Company) project is designated to respect US Federal new regulations as a foreign financial and banking institution.
With Moody's team (economic analysis and risk management), Axiom (regulatory reporting) and OFSSA (Oracle Financial) teams, his responsibility is to improve the database performance, reactively and proactively.
With Data Solution team from the Data Governance, his responsibility is to maintain the data quality data warehouse (5 TB Data Store & 4 TB Data Mart), that centralize all the defects related to the business and technical rules from the various primary 15 BNP Source Systems.
• Create a DB performance proactive strategy by reviewing, identifying all performance improvements on the DB, Query & Data model levels.
• Identify, tune and solve all active performance issues related to the DB and the daily ETL data loads workload (around 55 GB daily).
• Maintain and support all Data Solutions & Axiom Oracle data stores/databases/data warehouses.
• Document & complete the DB norms, standards & specifications to all DBs for DEV/SIT/UAT & PROD environments. Create a referential document that includes all related topics to the DBs.

Verona Shoes is a chain of around 20 Stores and a Warehouse in Quebec, with the plan for an extension to all the other Canadian provinces.
• Review the current IT infrastructure, recommend and plan a new infrastructure with the latest technologies and flexibility to integrate the future extension.

NSBS is a US international steel manufacturer with a wide range of products used primarily in construction, automotive manufacturing . NSBS wants to migrate their IT environment to new physical servers and perform a major upgrade of all their Sybase DBs. The objective is to complete the migration with no impact on the various applications, ensuring data integrity throughout the project:
• Actively participate in the review of all components of the IT environment, together with the project manager and the Unix System Administrator .
• Participate in the project Scoping phase, assuming the DB part. Ensure the stability of the various access methods to Sybase DBs, data integrity, DB objects and structures, DBs replication. There are more than 85 different applications that link to 4 Sybase servers.
• Actively participate in the migration strategy, assuming the DB part. Specifically, migration of Sybase from 12.5 to 15.7, replication strategy and operational disaster recovery, backup and restore strategy, as well as risk management .

PBSC uses a sophisticated application to track every signal happening within their public bike system used by many cities around the world. My mission in this project is to improve performance on all levels related to the MySQL databases used as containers for their entire data :
• Identify, plan & apply the priorities required to boost and increase performance on the following 3 levels: DB model, DB & Query optimization, archiving & partitioning.
• Support the different MySQL DB environments from development/testing to production.

The next generation mobile technology applications at Synchronica are using Oracle & Mysql. In this mandate, my responsibilities cover the management of all production databases.
• administer and troubleshoot Oracle RAC DBs and Mysql Replication HA in a 24/7 production high data traffic environment;
• optimize DBs overall performance, as well as slow SQL queries;
• maintain Linux, Perl, Bash & PL/SQL scripts used by the Financial System that generates strategic monthly reports destined to clients like BELL, Rogers, ATT;
• review all Oracle DB environments and suggest solutions to improve the DBA service at the levels of production support, as well as of Synchronica application migration and deployment.

GLIST is a strategic project for YPG aiming to gather all their clients in Canada & USA, their listings and related data in one DB. I was entrusted the following responsibilities:
• define all norms and standards of GLIST environment Oracle DBs (DEV, QA, PRE-PROD & PROD);
• define login access management, privileges and profiles, as well as determine DB security rules by applying a Security Baseline;
• put in place the DB backup and recovery strategy and define GLIST operational production DB disaster recovery plan (with Dataguard);
• plan all detailed DBA activities for GLIST DB environments implementation, participate actively in determining the physical infrastructure needs (servers, CPU, memory, disks) and estimate the disk space requirements for all the various Oracle DBs (datafiles, backups, others);
• install and configure Oracle 11g software and Grid Infrastructure binaries, create the DBs in the project and apply all necessary Oracle RPMs on the Linux/Red Hat v5 servers;
• put in place ASM (Automated Storage Management) and the FRA (Fast Recovery Area), as well as OEM Database Control;
• apply Flashback functionalities on the transaction, record, table and DB levels in the QA environment;
• support all users (e.g. optimize SQL queries, BD refreshing, etc.) and administer the various DBs to keep performance optimized as possible and automatically controlled by the rules and metrics;
• document all strategies, procedures and scripts related to GLIST Oracle DBs;
• Assume Datastage administrator role, by putting in place a well configured environment with well optimized jobs.

As a responsible for administering all Oracle databases for CDPQ, here are the accomplished major tasks:
• define the Oracle databases norms for the CDPQ;
• analyse and review all CDPQ Oracle instances, then prepare a document for each one regarding upgrades and improvements to be made;
• implement the necessary reorganization and improvements to Oracle DBs in order to meet the standards, security and access norms, as well as reinforce performance on the database level;
• install and upgrade Oracle binaries 9i/10g/11g, as well as apply Oracle patches and create databases respecting CDPQ norms;
• take in charge various projects such as management of backups (RMAN, export, cold, hot), recovery, disk space, Oracle patches and upgrades, performance improvement, and reporting on Oracle DB health check;
• put in place Dataguard to ensure database replication and high availability, and also Oracle Fail Safe on 2 servers in cluster mode;
• administer, support, intervene and resolve all problems occurring with the Oracle databases in production and testing environments;
• participate actively in the deployment and periodical testing of CDPQ applications operational disaster recovery plan, ensuring availability of several Oracle DBs within 4 hours;
• normalize all Oracle accounts management in all the database environments. Standardize the access rules, privileges and profiles;
• centralize the management of existing Oracle DBs on Unix and Windows platforms, using the Oracle Grid Control.

In this Banking Enterprise Data Warehouse project, I was assigned the following responsibilities:
• analyze and determine the functional and technical requirements of the bank new Data Warehouse;
• participate in planning activities in collaboration with the project manager;
• prepare analysis documents on the data processing and ETL model;
• implement an integration solution and incremental data loading;
• eliminate performance issues at the levels of SQL queries, data mappings and DB, as well as improve the data warehouse stability;
• define the overall strategy of the data warehouse functional testing, as well as define the test cases of initial and incremental loads;
• participate actively in the implementation of the metadata model of the date warehouse and elaborate solutions such as jobs controls, reruns, chaining and dependencies;
• participate actively in the conceptual architecture, logical and physical data warehouse and data mart marketing;
• develop and implement all jobs controls reports in HTML format;
• Take in charge of weekly and monthly production calendar data loadings of the data warehouse.

My mandate was to intervene at RAPID data warehouse project to help meet the delivery deadline and provide my technical expertise. I was given the following tasks:
• intervene and solve the various technical problems in ETL, data warehouse and SQL queries;
• prepare a technical document proposing suggestions and solutions to enhance RAPID application which is based on a data warehouse. Three aspects are covered: the development, DB modeling and metadata.

In this mandate, the goal was to improve the data integration layer existing among 13 states for the telecommunication business analysis application. In this context, I was given the following mission:
• design and develop in Oracle PL/SQL and UNIX Korn Shell Scripting, a new data integration layer constituted of interrelated input and output job processes, in order to reduce the complexity of the data loading streams to the application data warehouse.

This is a project to build Business Intelligence Software called Strategist that consists of retrieving telecom data from Lucent billing system to a Decision Support System (DSS) data warehouse for analysis, prediction and provisioning. I was entrusted the following responsibilities:
• participate actively on the architecture of the data warehouse data marts which is the platform of the business intelligence software Strategist, which will serve Lucent's big telecom customers. This software lets the clients decision makers to be well positioned in the market and increase profitability;
• design the ODS relational database model;
• design the ETL process, and the multidimensional model (star schemas) which is the heart of software data Strategist;
• identify and analyze the business needs, then transform them into technical specifications;
• put in place the ODS database relational model and design star schema modeling;
• design and code in PL/SQL some of the product’s analysis features, using statistical algorithms;
• eliminate scalability problems through the design and architecture of an efficient Oracle data warehouse;
• reduce the data extraction time from 12 to 2 hours, yielding a 83% improvement;
• tune and reduce complex SQL statements execution time to 25%;
• perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, creation, security, sizing estimation, replication, performance, and tuning SQL statements;
• establish the ETL life cycle process;
• improve the deployment process for the BI software Strategist.

The marketing database application (BDMK) is consisting of financial and accounting modules. In this project, I was entrusted the following responsibilities:
• design a complex process of integrating data in real time and batch, from mainframe central system IBM-MVS (DB2) to the Sun server (Oracle);
• develop an integration life cycle engine which does the control of the data feeds, scheduling, dependencies and distribution for the different processes, in preserving the optimisation of data traffic;
• write various technical documents and prepare the project planning part of the data integration;
• optimize the performance on the DB and SQL statements levels, improve the DB backups and monitoring scripts, as well as adjust database model with respect to the logical and physical data distribution;
• lead the technical integration team.

P01 Michelin project consists of implementing a single worldwide system centralized in data centers located in every continent. In this context, I was entrusted the following responsibilities for the European continent:
• design the data extraction architecture and determine its technical specifications;
• schedule and automate the different extracting data processes from each European country, then integrate those chains in parallel batch processing onto the Oracle Applications existing on the central server;
• design and implement the integration process interfaces of the Accounting and Finance modules for each European country;
• insure data flow integrity and performance;
• coordinate with other teams, prepare technical documents and plan the data integration part of the project;
• lead the European integration team.

In this project which consists in improving the data feeds exchanged between different national and international banking institutions and the CDC, I was responsible for the following tasks:
• automate, plan and integrate the different Finance, Exchange and Rates chains in real time and batch for the different national and international banking institutions;
• safeguard the data integration and control the transfer inbound and outbound;
• ensure the integrity and performance at the SQL query level in Sybase central database, after the various complex data extractions and integration.

This project consists of providing technical support for a system network of 1, 500 workstations and 400 printers in 60 factories. As well, provide support and control of a large complex chain of daily treatments (Finance and Accounting modules). In this context, I was entrusted the following responsibilities:
• ensure the submitted requests of types system (Unix/Windows) and database ( Oracle/Sybase), follow well the procedures and are treated within less than four hours;
• write a 500 pages technical manual on the operation and system support;
• increase the technical service quality;
• manage the production technical support team.

In this project, I improved the data reception from the different stores to the Oracle central server. I was responsible of the following tasks:
• automate and schedule all the financial and accounting data processes during the night shift;
• transfer data to the central server before the stores opening next day;
• ensure the good conduct of the backups and archiving remotely;
• solve all kinds of integration problems related to the system and the central database.

GESCU$ is a financial and accounting billing system, used by all institutions of the Montreal Urban Community within a network of some 45 buildings in Montreal. In this context, I was entrusted the following responsibilities:
• prepare and write the administration and maintenance procedures for the Sun Solaris-Oracle production, pre-production and development servers;
• solve all problems occurring on the Unix servers, as well as prepare daily report on the systems status;
• coordinate with the various teams who are using the servers and ensure the continuous system support throughout the project.

In this project, which consists of creating the company’s Web site, I was entrusted the following tasks:
