Wirral Partnership Digital Strategy Lead. Lead Wirral Council IT Service - 150 staff. Capital Budget £4m p.a. Revenue Budget, £11.9m.
• Deliver a complex technology reinvestment program, working with multiple partners and 3rd parties, to improve flexibility and resilience and to support major transformation across the Council and the Partnership:
o Refresh ICT estate
o Migrate corporate email to cloud SaaS
o Redevelop digital customer access channels to deliver £3m savings in 2 years
o Relocate data centres
o Redesign and update MPLS WAN and LANs
o Video streaming for public meetings
o Small cell WiFi for public consumption in public spaces
o CRM/ERP replacement
o Redesign and implement mobile responsive website with secure access for staff
o Increased automation across the council (integrating digital front end to back office systems and automating back office functions (HR, recruitment, IT fulfilment, end user self-serve, etc.)
• Council lead on information governance and assurance
• Implementation of managed print service to provide secure follow me printing with hybrid mail
• Executive Board Member for iNetwork partnership working organisation
• Member of the (Local Public Services) National CIO Council.

Responsible for devising and delivering the Digital, Information and Technology Strategies - 70 staff. Capital Budget £4m p.a. Revenue Budget, £4.6m.


• Delivered a major technology investment program.
• Restructured the IT department and reduce costs by 50% while improving quality of service
• Delivered major transformational programmes including, Unified Communications, mobile and agile working, case management system, secure follow me printing and hybrid mail, major reimplementation of all finance systems
• Increased automation and back office integration (HR, payroll, recruitment, IT fulfilment, end user self-serve, etc.)
• Achieved significant cost savings of more than £0.5 million p.a. by re-negotiating contracts and improved supply chain management
• Lead on Information Governance and Assurance and Borough SIRO
• Chair of Society for Public Service IT Management (Socitm) in the North West and Chair of the Socitm National Members Advisory Council.
