Currently, I am part of the Sustainability team for this very prestigious, challenging & oneof-
a-kind of project, which is not only a major infrastructure project in the world but also
very time-bound & a well-integrated project. The Sustainability team has been very
efficiently delivering a huge responsibility of integrating the project design & construction
process along with all the various stakeholders - Qatar rail (client), PMC, DVE (Design
Verification Engineer), Consultants (Atkins, Arcadis, KEO Consultants, Alpin) to successfully
reach the Goal of a ‘4 star certification for GSAS Railways v2.1 - Design & Construction
management rating system’, which has never been attempted in any other Railways project
in Qatar.
I am extremely proud of being an integral part of the whole process for past 2 years to have
helped achieve the recent key milestones of ‘Letter of Conformance’ (LOC) for all 4 GSAS
stations from GORD Trust (certifying authority for GSAS rating systems) which validated the
integrated Design (Architecture, Materials, MEP etc.) through a monthly workshop series
of ‘PCRs’ (Project Certification Reviews). My key role has also been to facilitate all the 4
GSAS Stations achieve the Construction Management Stage 2 - 4 Star certification, after 2
Site Audits from GORD & extensive evidence documentation as per GORD requirements on
GSASgate.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsibility include developing, improving and monitoring Sustainability
Management Plans, Strategies and Calculators relating to all GSAS requirements for
Railways Design and Construction Management certification.
· Collated evidence for GSAS Design & Construction Management scheme for all 4
certification stations - Bin Mahmoud station, Ras Bu Abboud station, Al Sudan station,
Al Sadd station to help it achieve the CM Stage 1 & 2-4 Star certification.
· Developed credit submission schedule for GSAS design for each station and track
progress.
· Submitted the evidence to certification body GORD and attend pre-construction review
(PCR) workshops.
· Prepared monthly Sustainability Progress Reports to be submitted to the Client.
· Participated in sustainability, environmental, engineering and construction meetings /
workshops, as required.
· Reviewed drawings, reports, analysis, specifications, calculators and materials for GSAS
certification compliance
· Monitored the GSAS construction management scheme progress by regular site
inspections and report to senior management.
· Communicated/conducted presentations on sustainability to JVs staff and
stakeholders.
Key Project:
The Doha Metro is a planned rapid transit system in Qatar's capital city that is scheduled to
become operational by the end of 2019. It will have four lines with an approximate overall
length of 300 km and 100 stations. The Doha Metro Gold Line, also known as the Historic
Line, is designed to support the underground transportation system in Central Doha, Qatar.
The Gold Line 'Design & Build' (D&B) Contract was assigned by Qatar Rail to the ALYSJ Joint
Venture, which is led by AKTOR and includes L&T, Yapi Merkezi, STFA and Al Jaber
Engineering's participation. It is a planned rapid transit system in Qatar's capital city that is
scheduled to become operational by the end of 2019.
Responsibilities included being able to single handedly liaison with all the various
international project consultants at every stage of the project, ensuring fulfilment of the
project’s goals, reviewing Energy & Daylight simulation reports as per actual built-in design
and for project feasibility. I was involved with providing design inputs to optimize on the
building’s performance & project planning and management with respect to the projects
timeline and deliverables.

the project. Evaluated the Feasibility of the Project for the suitable Rating system and its
eligibility to obtain the certification level. Promoted Green Buildings & the organisation
through various mediums. Responsibilities included preparing design documentation
pertaining to Sustainability for key projects.
