PURPOSE
To supervise and participate in preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance, and testing of all plant mechanical equipment.
BACKGROUND
The heavy Equipment Engineer is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting of Ken Worth Trucks, CAT Earth Moving Machines Such as Bull dozer and Wheel Dozer, KOMATSU Dozers & Wheel dozers, JCB Forklift trucks, TADANO Mobile Cranes, Light Duty Vehicles ( TOYOTA, NISSAN, GMC & BUSES), Workshop Equipment and Overhead cranes, Water Well Trucks.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supervise, coordinate and participate in the preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance activities of the plant equipment at the assigned location.
Participate in the planning, scheduling and execution of shutdown and major overhaul maintenance activities.
Assist the section head in establishing priorities, making improvements on work methods and to participate in evaluating modification proposals, failure analysis and unscheduled shutdowns.
Comply with NDC Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among his staff.
Prepare the list of spares, tools and other material required for the maintenance jobs and issue the Purchase/Material requisitions for the Section Head approval.
Inspect and confirm that the specifications are inline with the requirement of the received ‘direct charge’ and ‘stock Materials’.
Conduct Toolbox meetings with subordinates for discussing safety and methods of completing job tasks.
Evaluate equipment performance problems and to suggest modification / available new technology to reduce overall maintenance cost.
Direct and participate in performing Condition Monitoring of Rotating equipment and advise on the maintenance schedule based on the analysis.
Implement equipment manufacturer service bulletin and recommendations.
Interface and coordinate with other sections in sorting out equipment problems and maintenance activities.
Participate in budget preparation and cost control .
Monitor and ensure that the shutdown maintenance jobs are carried out within the scheduled time frame.
Update the equipment Data, History and Maintenance records in ‘SAP’ system.
Organize the safe consignment of the parts removed from the main equipment for refurbishment and to inspect the refurbished material.
Provide On Job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.
MAIN CHALLENGES
Maintain high work standards, taking into account reduction of manpower and diluted experience, short timelines and ageing of equipment.
Update technical knowledge, adapt to new technology and keep abreast of latest technical advances.
Handling an aging work force, where experienced technicians have quit and training their replacements to the same level of efficiency.
Service team organizing, customer service complains, follow up job cards, spare parts warranty claim, stock controlling, parts oredering.

Repair and perform major overhaul of MERCEDES trucks engines and gear box, brakes and pneumatic system, differential & axles, suspension system.
Worked in repairing & maintenance of CAT earth moving & GENSet. Performing PMS & emergency breakdown of equipment at site, in addition to major overhaul of engines & Transmissions.
Basic knowledge for machines and mechanical engineering systems. technical drawing . how to design and repair . how to order spare parts . also learned English language and grammar, mathematics, science physics
