Logistics responsibilities (main):
- Supervise all Procurement, logistics and warehousing activities within the GCC countries
- Review logistics contracts given by service provider and negotiate offers provided, then propose best offer to the Supply Chain Manager taking into account all relevant factors
- Analyze, select and approve on service provider as per provided shipping quotations (per shipment)
- Design domestic distribution modules to supply Operations with their requirement
- Consolidate, monitor & analyze logistics section’s KPI(s)
- Follow-up escalated matters to ensure smooth logistical operation
Warehousing responsibilities:
- Supervise all warehousing activities within the organization
- Review warehouse contracts given by service provider and negotiate offers provided, then propose best offer to the Supply Chain Manager taking into account all relevant factors
- Design full warehouse setup based on the warehousing requirements standards & safety standards
- Consolidate, monitor & analyze warehouse section’s KPI(s)
- Follow-up escalated matters to ensure smooth warehousing operation
Procurement responsibilities:
- Search for possible vendors as instructed by Procurement team
- Negotiate and arrange deals as per Procurement departments policies
- Coordinate and follow up on open orders in order to ensure smooth deliveries
Assists the site manager and operations manager in the daily operation for the Chevron-Philips project.
- Trains newly joining employees on the use of Hand-held terminal (MDT), Warehouse Management System (WMS), Container Management System (CMS) & Order Processing.
- Assist in the management and planning of future needs, including time preparation to meet staff demands.
- Coordinates office space upon arrival of new staff, including all logistical needs such as transportation.
- Coordinates the supply of general & industrial services, such as cleaning supplies & PPE provision.
- Providing safety induction for newly joined personnel such as: employees, visitors & 3rd parties.
- Maintains a strong commitment towards implementing the safety rules & regulations declared by HSSEQ.
- Assists in the organizational logistics activities.
- Partially responsible to get the company certified in ISO 9001:2008 in Dec 2010
- Issuing documentation, such as Process Flows, Job Descriptions, Work Instructions, ...etc.
- Maintaining Quality Standards in the Company
- Handling Customer Complaint
- Performing Audits
- Involved in issuing all necessary documentations for the logistics operation department that will be handling the new logistics facility of Chevron-Philips; documentation such as Process Flows, Job Descriptions, Work Instructions, ...etc.
- Responsible for the coordination of all (empty and full) imported ISO tanks into KSA as agents of NewPort Tanks Project (liquid chemicals) involving companies like BDP Kanoo (Huntsman), Kanoo Terminal Services (KTS) and Aminat.
- Responsible for the coordination of all (empty and full) exported ISO tanks from KSA as agents of NewPort Tanks Project (liquid chemicals) involving companies like BDP Kanoo (Huntsman), Kanoo Terminal Services (KTS) and Aminat.
- Responsible for verifying invoices and charging demurrages for all consignees and their follow-up until payment is released.
- Responsible to provide rate inquiries from various shipping lines.
I was recommended by my Academy to join this training program offered by CMA CGM, as a trainee i got the knowledge of how shipping lines quote freight rates for their customers, how to proceed with booking of containers for the customer on CMA CGM vessels and how to handle customer complaints, and initiate a survey on the customers to evaluate the performance of the department; during my training i had experience in Customer Service, Operations and Logistics Departments.
After acquiring my Bachelor's degree, i went to Mexico for job hunting and meanwhile i could develop my knowledge, thus decided to join a Six Sigma Black Belt course in one of the top universities in the country under the name Tecnológico de Monterrey, whoever i decided to postpone it since i found a job in Saudi Arabia, after arriving in Saudi Arabia, i decided to pursue what i have started in Mexico, so i joined a Green Belt course and acquired Grade A in April 2010, and looking forward to the Black Belt in the near future.
Studying in the University of Huddersfield was such a challenge phase in my life especially when one had to work and study at the same time, not only but also the language (accent), method of studying and philosophy of the professors were obviously different from the ones in Egypt; but i knew i had to breakthrough all the barriers one way or another. We were also entitled to research our dissertation individually, i was so interested into Six Sigma and i decided my dissertation will be mainly about this new Quality Management Tool, my project title is "An Analysis of Six Sigma methodology in Industries". I had to keep up my performance and by doing so i achieved a grade of 2nd class with Honours in the degree. I didn't lose the ability to tutor other students by then so i started leading a few of the Chinese students of my generation to achieve better in their exams and projects. After returning back to Egypt, i had the luxury to attend my graduation and i was awarded with the A.A.S.T Medal for the outstanding performance in the A.A.S.T. as a student, and for being the first (in grades) of the two students who traveled abroad for their Bachelor's Degree in Science with Honours in Logistics.
During my studies in the A.A.S.T., since day one i started working on my reputation as a hard worker, grades and on my leadership skills, until i have became one of the most recognized students in my Generation, to an extent that i just to be recommended by my Academy to all companies that are seeking potential students, i joined a training program in Exxon Mobil, Siemens, CMA CGM, Egyptair, Fujitsu Siemens, and others; not only but have been able to organize and lead a project with 12 students in my group, in one of the toughest modules during the first semester; in addition to lead groups as a tutor before exams, in order to assist my fellow colleagues and friends to pass and achieve higher marks than what they have expected. By working so hard, i acquired a GPA 3.64 which is Excellent grade, and due to these grades and remarkable reputation, i was offered a chance to continue my Bachelor's degree in the University of Huddersfield, UK.
