As a Unit Manager for Personal Assistance Services, you are responsible for leading and developing a municipal service that delivers legally regulated personal assistance to individuals with disabilities. The role combines operational management, staff leadership, financial responsibility and legal compliance within a rights-based welfare system.

I was resposible of coordinate the employees - the staff who are responsible for the actual production within the business - to maximize and optimize the production of goods or services. At the same time, I was responsible to ensure that regulations are followed and the staff well-being. For this, I was given the mandate to decide as well as resources (usually personnel but can also be premises, equipment and materials) for the work to be done.

The city of Gothenburg public policy is to not have families living in poverty or being homeless.

In my role of housing counsellor I had a two-fold resposibility. My resposibility to follow the public policy of the municipality and to follow the needs of the struggling families.

In my role I met with the families and the individuals that lacked housing. My aim was to find homes for these people.

One of the most important parts of my work was the collaboration with landlords (public and private) willing to rent out their apartments to the people I recommended.

My achievements in my work was to lower the amount of people lacking housing and to lower the strain on the economy of the municipality.
