Special Project #1: Assessed the current DoT and Integrated Traffic Centre (ITC) Operating Model and introduced a more sustainable model based on the 2018 Transport Sector Strategy Plan.

Successfully managed a team of four DoT employees in addition to 10 SAAED employees (contracted by DoT to inspect School Transport service providers) and implemented over a period of two months a quick-win traffic enhancement project around Abu Dhabi city’s 18 major private and public schools. Traffic congestions were reduced by over 40% and the flow of private vehicles and school buses were regulated using soft measures (Road surface markings, boards and signs, and parking inspectors)

Liaising closely with internal design and development teams, I was responsible for brainstorming, managing and launching the Multi Modal Journey Planner (Embedded in DoT’s DARB app) with a budget of AED 9.45 million, 12 months implementation & testing and 2 months reliability testing. Working at the forefront of the D&I team I have been instrumental in driving recognition for breakthrough projects. The MMJP project was completed on time and on budget, a first for the organization. I was also the assistant engineer for the successful completion of the Refurbishment of the Traffic Management Centre located next to ADM. Using in-house expertise, the AED 16.6 million project was completed in 16 months and the centre was fitted with a state-of-the art data centre and an overhauled traffic management room.
