• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Loss Prevention Division providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
• Audit safety policies & processes throughout the company to ensure high level of compliance and general safety standards
• Manages and update the Emergency Response Plan in conjunction with the Emergency Control Center to ensure all categories of incidents are dealt with effectively as they happen which include the actual set up of the control center and ensuring that all communications are routed through to the center for guidance during an incident.
• Plan and participates in the Executive Management Safety Review (EMSR) visits to inspect and review safety procedures with senior management, and process outstanding issues.
• Participate in preparing safety inspection programs for facilities equipment, and conduct regular inspection and checking of safety practices and precautions.
• Review quarterly, monthly & weekly reports detailing training held, drills conducted, risk assessments and other outstanding issues to ensure operations are delivering to target.
• Provide monthly statistical report detailing any Lost Time Injuries, Restricted Duty Injuries, First Aid Cases (LTI, RDI & FAC), Fire incidents and motor vehicle incidents, mileage driven for the company vehicles.
• Participate in planning and conducting safety training programs including interpretation of regulations and manuals.
• Orient employees and contractors on new or revised safe work methods and equipment accident prevention and first aid.
• Study & recommend on safety measures or requirements involved in their designs major maintenance or new projects.
• Assist in the preparation of the division budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed.
• Review all requisitions for safety appliances and equipment from departments to ensure compliance with the standards established by the company.
• Participate in investigating and analyzing accidents, determining causes, and recommend appropriate measures to prevent recurrence of such accident.
• Prepare a monthly safety letter to increase safety awareness among the employees, contactors and their dependents.
• Liaise and coordinate with supervisors and engineers of other departments to implement safety rules and regulations, safety committee meeting, evacuation drills, training and inspection programs for employees and contractors.
• Evaluates project design, method statements, job safety analysis, and make sure that all projects have HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies and safety engineers are participating in all review meetings whether in Kingdome or overseas.
• Manage the effective achievement of division objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, providing of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and department performance and transfer of knowledge
