Project Manager for "Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS)" facades and roof works.
The building envelope is consisiting of:
- 16, 000 sqm of structure glazed facades and unitized curtain walls of custom design zigzag/triangular shapes.
- 17, 000 sqm of steel structure and Kalzip roofing works.
- 8, 000 sqm of composite cladding and GRC cladding works.
- 4, 000 sqm of st. steel calligraphy with tension rods support structure.
- 5, 000 sqm of external false ceiling works.
Client :- ASTAD/Qatar Foundation.
Consultant : Loius Berger International.
Designer : ARUP.
Main Contractor : CCC/TCC JV.
- Assisting project owners, owner representatives, cost controller, consultants and the construction managers in preparing specifications for new projects, and preparing cost estimates and budgets.
- Engaged with the General Manager and Chairman in setting up plans to achieve weekly, monthly, yearly reports.
- Review with the concerned bidders, the project specifications, requirements, drawings, and pricing towards providing a comprehensive well studied offer to the clients.
- Coordinate with technical team to get solutions for the complicated and complex items.
- Upgrade and issue new work instructions for the bidding department.
- Issue time schedule for the projects that are being priced in the bidding department. Monitor and make sure that deadlines for submittals are respected and adhered to.
- Study potential projects in detail and provide technical submittals with the offer, in close cooperation with the Technical Dept.
- Review and study tender documents and other requirements received from client.
- Review and study all specifications documents, (Bill Of Quantities), and drawings before pricing.
- Assign the projects to quantity surveyors to check the received BOQ and correct it in case of any discrepancies with the drawings.
- Send requests to suppliers to collect prices for the items to be priced (Glass, special accessories…etc).
- Revise prices according to modifications requested by the client.
- Prepare budget sheets, project general activity plan, and material lists after the order is confirmed based on original costing.
- Maintain records of prices for standard and non-standard items.
- Supervising and following up with dept. engineers and purchasing specialists (6 engineers + 2 specialists) the local content activities for the parts local manufacturing, ordering and delivery according to the defined production program for running models.
- Supervising the foreign purchasing activities.
- Coordinate workflow with other departments according to the company policy and general process chart.
- Coordinating the workflow between the local suppliers in Egypt and DB Germany.
- Represent the dept. in ISO-TS 16494 certification/surveillance audits.
- Supplier support (Technical support and management, Regular Audit)
- Preparing governmental and customs applications.
- Achieving the supplier process targets.
- Negotiating and approve openings the L/Cs & L/Gs with banks for suppliers’ payments.

- Responsible for long and short term plans for car material ordering and delivery according to defined production program.
- Contracting and material purchasing from Daimler-Benz, foreign suppliers and service providers.
- Collect price quotations in respective to defined parts specifications and quality standard.
- Supplier selection & regular evaluation according to “MPS (Mercedes-Benz Production System)” and quality standard “ISO TS 16494” requirements.
- Issuing “Corrective Actions Requests” in case of discrepancies, and follow-up efficient solutions.
- Assure accurate / efficient processes / specification for locally produced parts.
- Study the parts technical data and drawings.
- Prepare feasibility study for parts local production.
- Market study for proposed local suppliers.
- Perform system & process audits to evaluate the proposed suppliers, according to “MPS” and “ISO TS 16494”.
- Preparing evaluation and ranking sheets to select the capable suppliers according to audit results.
- Study and approve the material & tools lists, process sheets, in-process and final inspection plans.
- Study and negotiate the price quotations, and cost elements.
- Regular (monthly/annual) evaluation for local supplier(s) performance.
- Drawing & data coordination between the design office and the site..
- Supervising the execution of the works, and assuring that the work is running as per the specifications and drawings.
- Monitoring the daily productivity with foremans on site according to the baseline schedule.
- Coordinating between the civil & electro-mechanical works.
