HSE Auditor for Mesaieed Complex of plants including steel plants, petrochemical, aluminum and utility plants. Audited and established a safety ranking of the levels of risk in each plant.

PTTechnic, a subsidiary of a Singapore listed company, is an established player in the Malaysian /Singaporean oil/gas market in the field of piping and storage tank fabrication and installation as well as being an EPCC Contractor.
Responsibilities: Develop a new market for the company in the area of plant turnaround and shutdown works. Enhance business relations between existing and new clients.
Achievements- Successfully secured new projects in this field with the Petronas Gas plants. Projects were completed ahead of time and within budget with zero lost time accidents (LTAs). Also successfully expedited outstanding collections for projects in Malaysia and Sudan.

for the USD 450mil QACENCO Methanol Project, Qatar which includes a methanol plant and associated infrastructure and jetty in Messaieed. Based in London UK and Doha, Qatar.
Responsibility: All technical output and quality management systems for the first phase of the project ie Basic Design Package fit for tender exercise.
Achievement: Deliverables above were completed and handed over to the Client in time for financial close utilizing a multi-national project team.
Footnote: Basic engineering package was completed and handed over to Client however a coup in 1996 prevented further progress on the project.



2) Team Leader and Proposal Manager,
Responsibility: Led a team of engineers and research scientists in undertaking studies to recommend technical options, financial feasibility as well as conduct various EIA studies to assist in management decision making. Studies were carried out both for private sector and in-house subsidiaries of Petronas.
Achievement: Successfully carried out a technical and financial feasibility study for the setting up of a lube oil recycling plant for the Malaysian auto industry with recommended technology options. I also headed various EIA studies on optimum locations for gas and petrochemical installations for the Petronas group.
Footnote: The re-refining of lube oil study pitted Viscolube, Italy against KTI Netherland for best technology options. The study also uncovered the existence of a counterfeit syndicate which had cornered most of the available used oil supply.
