Section : LPG treatment, PRU and MTBE
Roles & Key Responsibilities
 Responsible for supervising and orienting the operation team for achieving the production and quality goals of the following units ( Controlled by HONEYWELL system in DCS )

1- LPG treatment unit ( licensed by UOP, capacity of 12000 BPD LPG = 80 m3/h) .In this unit the
following processes done in a successive stages
• H2S removal by amine treating
• Mercaptanes RSH removal by causting extraction and Merox
• LPG splitting C3 & C4 in splitting column
• Amine regeneration ( licensed by JGC-Japan )
• COS carbonyl sulfide removal by extraction with amine solution

2- Propylene recovery unit PRU ( Licensed by UOP, capacity of 5100 BPD = 35 M3/H). In this unit the following processes done in a successive stages
• Removing C2 from C3 stream in the DE-ETHANIZER
• Splitting propane/propylene in DE-PROPANIZER to produce polymer grade propylene

3- MTBE Unit ( Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether, license by IFP - FRANCE )
With a Unit capacity of 28320 KG/H = 48 M3/H. In this unit the following processes done
• Converting the Iso-Butene in the C4 stream to MTBE ( Octane booster product ) by the catalytic reaction with Methanol ( in presence of cationic acidic ion exchange resin catalyst )
• C4 Raffinate washing section
• Methanol recovery section

Senior Operation supervisor ( CFP Commissioning ) at HESTON Secondment company in KNPC Kuwait National Petroleum Company
