IP Backbone Planning & Design Supervisor (manage Team of 5 Senior Engineers & 5 technicians)
Budgeting:
• Contribute in the preparation of the annual Budget as well as the long terms Business Plans.
• Analyze & Study business cases and come up with best scenarios.
• Maintain control over the budget through different reviews and monitoring.
• Maintain accurate database and reports.
• Meet regularly with different stakeholders to check their needs as a preliminary step to prepare the budget.
• Managing yearly budget of 30 mEGP (~ 3 mUSD).
Technical:
• Lead the IP Backbone team in implementing policies & procedures to design and manage the IP Backbone network.
• Project manages the IP Backbone strategy, policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
• Manage internal customers’ (Vodafone different departments) expectation and ensure meeting the business requirements.
• Prepare status reports and communicate progress appropriately to higher management.
• Responsible for status updates on all projects related to IP Backbone network.
• Vendor Management from start to end of implementation.
• Research and Develop technology requirements and oversee implementation and provide architecture reviews.
• Lead, manage, motivate team engineers and proactively develop/manage resources to meet the organizational goals.
• Create team KPIs & develop reporting mechanisms, conduct performance and employee evaluation and present reports.
• Participated as Technical Expert in the IP Backbone upgrade (CPN Upgrade) project with Cisco Engineering /PS to upgrade the IP Backbone network to the state of the art.
• Acting as Technical Expert & Project Manager in All IP Backbone projects with Cisco Engineering /PS to introduce new Mobile Internet POPs.
• Planning and implementing most fit optimization techniques using F5 products (TCP Optimization “HTTP & HTTPs) aiming to deliver the best possible quality of experience (QoE) to our customers.
• Working on the following Cisco equipment Cisco 1800, 3560, 4948, 6500, 6800, 7600, GSR 12410, GSR 12810, CRS and ASR

• Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving network problems observed through Network Management Stations or escalated from helpdesk. Determine and implement best actions to fix faults reported by Equant’s customers (Worldwide).
• Define and implement the best actions to improve the VPN performance indicators.
• Perform corrective urgent configuration changes to resolve Customer faults.

5. Remote Access: PPP Dial Backups (DDR using ISDN/PSTN).
6. Internet, IP security (IPsec Tunnels).
7. Legacy Protocols: DLSW, ALPS
8. Nortel Contivity Boxes (VPN concentrators) configuration and troubleshooting.

1. Paradyne DSLAMs: 8610 and 8810 DSLAMs, 8620, SCM uplink cards with E1 IMA and E3 ATM uplinks.
2.MGX 8850 WAN Switch and specifically RPM service Module
participate in Communication work package dealing with Cisco routers and switches and firewalls (PIX) and make the necessary configuration for the customer such as access-lists. Responsible for CRIX ( Cairo Reigonal Internet Exchange ) Operation and administration, which is the 1st Internet Exchange in Egypt to connect the ISPs together.
Also, participating in internet services work package; Responsible of Preparing the servers for the customer us and installing the needed software and patches .
