Direct the execution of all construction services (Management & Supervision) required for ECG Qatar projects “attached”. Responsibilities included, but not limited to assisting in, achievement of Company financial and schedule objectives for all construction works, preparing the annual and 5 year business plan of the Division. Ensure continuous updating of the methodology, best practices, processes, norms applicable, preparing forecast of peak manpower requirements to enable any shortages to be recruited or hired by HR. Maintain close co-operation and liaison with Regional Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the business and achievement of operational targets. Develop and, as approved by the Regional Manager, execute both short and long range business plans and programs for the Construction Services Division in order to achieve corporate goals and objectives. Guide, direct and coordinate the activities of the Division. Review and appraise its operations for effectiveness, efficiency, economy and conformance to established standards of performance. Institute necessary action to achieve improvements or correct deficiencies, as warranted including: determination and/or approval of organization and staffing; selection, development and assignment of immediate subordinates; delegation of authority; work assignment and definition of areas of responsibilities; and determination and/or approval of compensation for subordinates. Develop and submit the Division’s operating budget to the Regional Manager for approval. Provide the technical input to proposals to prospective clients and the technical support to the Business Development Division in their presentations to and evaluation by the clients. Designate the Proposal Engineers for the preparation of received proposals. Foster and maintain good relations with present and potential customers, professional organizations, and other individuals they may influence the business activities of the Company. Train and develop Division’s employees in order to increase their proficiency in satisfying current job requirements, and enhance their potential for advancement to more responsible positions. Represent the company and oversee the participation of the Construction Services Division in scientific fields, dealing with the engineering issues in order to promote the company role in the professional societies and exhibits the outstanding blend of ECG experience in the field of specialization.
Supervise the direction of Company Overseas Projects in the division directed by the assigned CM/RE including: business development activities as well as execution of ongoing projects to ensure their completion on schedule, within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations and accepted engineering and Company standards.
Primary Responsibilities;
-Monitor the execution and progress of all ongoing projects (Overseas) assigned to the Department and report on their status to the Division Head. Give particular attention to reporting matters affecting expected overruns or schedule delays as soon as these become apparent, and make every effort to rectify them.
-Monitor and assist the CM/RE in projects financial aspects to maintain or improve margin/cost ratios of projects, study and analyze scope change settlements, variation orders and claims, cash flow projections and control projects budget costs.
-Provide the Division Head and the Project Controls Department on a weekly basis with up-to-date information regarding the status of all projects assigned to the Department by maintaining appropriate records and reports e.g. man-hours status report, budget control, significant projects milestones and major events that could affect the project cash flow, invoicing of Clients, project costs, schedules and Client relations.
-Advise and assist the Division Head in the formulation Company policies and objectives in own area of responsibility, so as to enhance the business, earnings, capabilities and overall image of the Company.
-Foster and maintain good relations with present and potential clients, professional organizations other individuals that may influence the business activities of the Company.
-Plan and take part in the continuous training and development of employees under own direction in coordination with the Division Head to increase their proficiency in satisfying current job requirements, and enhance their potential for advancement to more responsible positions.
-Continuous communication with Project Managers (Projects Division) in issues related to Client relations and design issues.
-Providing the assistance to the field staff in contractual and technical issues as needed.
Handling the Country Projects :
- MARASSI Community in the North Coast, Sidi Abdel Rahman, Alexandria, Egypt; The Project comprises the construction, luxurious internal and external finishes works of nearly 400 Villas &Town Houses.
- MIVIDA Community, New Cairo, Egypt; The Project comprises 4 Office Parks (Administration Buildings) and Landscape .
Responsibilities included, but not limited to, oversee company needs, handle daily business issues, manage company associations, and recognize business opportunities. Constantly communicating and negotiating with clients or business associates. Continuously working to strategically expand, preserve or improve the company’s procedures, standards or policies while sticking to business edicts and regulatory guidelines. Handle the client accounts and corporate relationships. utilize the knowledge of business law to verify, oversee or approve commercial agreements and documentation in addition to handling all Contractual issues, Procurement Agreements and supervising the Q.S. teams as described herein .
- February 2012-Date, Engineering Consultants Group S.A. (ECG), Cairo, Egypt; Project / Contracts Manager; at project of Shahrazad phase 2 Project, Extension of SOLVAY ALEXANDRIA SODIUM CARBONATE, Alexandria, Egypt. The Project comprises Upgrading and installation of a new distillation line, a new concentration columns, and the revamping of absorption sector including ammonia receiving station and rationalization of the water cooling sector to increase the production capacity from 130, 000 ton/year to be 200, 000 ton/year.
- September 2011-Date, Engineering Consultants Group S.A. (ECG), Cairo, Egypt; Project / Contracts Manager; at project of Beyti Plant Extension (a joint venture Client PEPSICO & Al MARAI) .
- March 2011-August 2011, Project Manager for Cairo KidZania project, an educational/ entertainment project of 6000 m2 located in Cairo Festival City, in addition to 2 subsidiary projects, Jazzercise and The Little Gym located in Heliopolis and Maadi. Scope of Project Management work is mainly divided into four (4) phases (during Tender Document preparation, during Tender action, during construction stage and during Substantial Completion),
2007-Date, Project manager for Borg El Arab International Airport, Alexandria
Responsibilities include, identifying requests by Client for services beyond the contracted scope of work, studying the Contractor's/Employer's claims, follow-up construction works and reporting promptly on delays and advising on catch-up requirements, follow-up Client's performance in respect of effecting payments to Contractors, Establishing and maintaining contract records, coordination of negotiation of all contracts, monitoring compliance to contract requirements ensuring all conditions satisfied before approval of the final invoice, Preparation of Weekly/Monthly Progress Reports for the CSD, reviewing the documents submitted by the Contractor and distribute it accordingly initiating and conducting meetings with Contractor.
projects are, electromechanical works in Ammonia, Urea Plants (i.e. Alexandria Fertilizers Company Alex.Fert. and Misr Oil Processing Company MOPCO). Responsible of the efficient, economic and complete site technical execution of the project in accordance with the required standards, specifications and Quality and Environmental Management System from the mobilization stage till the issuance of the provisional acceptance certificate by the client, Lead site coordination works between the various trades and resolve interface problems and Follow up the Quantity Survey and Monthly Progress Invoice acceptance.
