Main duties and with responsibilities:
• Overall management of all sections of the library
• Maintain/update library database and virtual library
• Classification and cataloguing of documents, both print and non-print
• Acquisition of new materials and collection development - print and electronic (on-line and off-line) versions of monographs and serials.
• Negotiating with suppliers and renewal of contracts for e-resources
• Provide reference services to staff and students - Instructional services and information literacy services
• Provide information services - research assistance & bibliographic information
• Establishing policies and work practices suitable to changing atmosphere
• Manage the increased needs for library resources/ services to cater the needs of college community and to meet the requirements of Accreditation.
• Reporting library status to the Dean /college administration.
• Creative participation in Library Committee in formulating various future-plans.
• Help the Circulation at peak hours of library use.
• Instruct users to develop better library skills/ research techniques.
• Prepare printed/ electronic instruction tools to promote library use.
• Conduct library-user studies and deduce plans for improvement.
• Managing the establishment works related with the library administration.
Main duties and with responsibilities:
• Overall management of the School Library (Secondary) by leading various sections like Acquisition, Technical, Circulation, etc.

• Provide research assistance and bibliographic information to users.

This is a Masters programme with intense study after a Bachelors in Library and Information Science. It gives special emphasis on research and dissemination of information for research and learning . A research work, ‘Information Support for University Administration’ was carried out during the course.
Professional Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science. Completed and passed with First Class.
Master of Arts (MA) in English Language and Literature. Optional subjects, as a part of this course, were English Language Teaching and Linguistics.
Bachelor of Science (BSc) with major in Zoology. Other subjects of study were English, Botany and Chemistry. This is a basic Science degree.
