I am currently working as a Family medicine Specialist and I am doing all the work and responsibilities of my post including supporting the administration.
More than five year work experience in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology as SHO and able to manage all types of Emergencies in the relavant section. Also gained experience in Teaching all grades of Staff including Medical Students and conducting Perinatal Meetings etc.
I am practising as a GP since last ten years, more than 42 hours per week.Now since last 4 years and 2 months I am practicing as a full time GP in the Sultanate of Oman.I am treating all kind of patients of Armed forces and their family members.I have plenty of experience in the field medicine.I got through the MRCGP International in September 2013 and I am a fully qualified GP/Family physician.Corrently I am Following the Fellowship in Diabetology course from Apollo Hospitals India which is affiliated with Liverpool University.
I have been practising as a House Officer from 2nd Feb 2003 to 3rd February 2004 at Colombo South Teaching Hospital.I have done Gynaecology & Obstetrics and General Paediatrics at Professorial Peadiatric Unit as my intern appointments.Following my internship I worked as as Relief House Officer In Paediatrics for about one month.My next Appointment was Medical Officer of Surgical & Medical Intensive Care Units of Colombo South Teaching Hospital for a period of six months where I leart the art of Critical Care Medicine and ICU Management.
Next Appointment was Medical Officer Accident & Emergency Unit of the Colombo South Teaching Hospital for a period of one and half month, which was a good time to learn medical emergencies including mass casuality Management
.Then I was appointed as a SHO obstetrics & Gynaecology from 1st November 2004 to 1st October 2010(For a period of 5 years & eleven months).I fully learn the art of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
In the mean time I have done Part time General Practice from 2004 February till 1st October 2010, everyday minimum 42 hours per week.
I got a chance to work and share my Knowledge & experiences at the International Level by getting through MOH Exam of Sultanate of Oman.
From 2nd October 2010 to date I am Practising as a full time General Practitioner in the Ministry of Defence of the Sultanate of Oman.I am in charge for a Primary care Medical Centre which caters not only the Army Personnel but also all age group of patients from their families(Children, Ladies & Old age patients) and Civilians from the area. From the beginning of my Career, not only the Clinical works but also the Administrative works & teaching all grades of staff and involved in post graduate studies and plenty of Continuing Medical Education programmes.
It is worth mention that I have done American Heart Association accredited BLS, ACLS, and PALS(Paediatrics Advance Life Support).I also Completed an online Course on Old AGE Psychiatry for General Practitioners in 2014 June, conducted by the Open University of Sri Lanka and an online course on Health Programme Management, conducted by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
I also have experience in research and Audit work and Presentation skills plus leadership qualities.
I have a sound knowledge in General Practice and I completed my MRCGP(Int) Exam in 2013 September.
I also completed the Dubai Health Authority Exam for the General Practitioners in June 2014.
I am looking for a suitable post where I can deliver my services in a very efficient way which not only include treating patients but also Management and teaching all grade of staff and taking any Challenge plus involving in the research and Audit works.
My excellent communication skills help me to achieve my targets easily in the past and present.
Worked as a medical officer at A & E unit of Colombo South Teaching Hospital and gained experience in managing several types of emergencies and did night on call duties
Worked as a medical officer of ICU in a tertiary care hospital with night on calls and gained experience by working with all types of Consultants including Microbiologist and Pathologist
Worked in the capacity of Releif House Officer with every other day night on calls equal to the post of Senior House Officer in a tertiary care Hospital with all facilities
Successfully completed the MBBS course and passed with second class Honours.
I have completed the above one year Fellowship course with one month contact program with lectures in Hydrabad India. This course is accredited to Royal Liverpool Academy UK,the academic centre of the Royal Liverpool and Boardgreen University Hospitals NHS trust. This course helped me to fulfill my learning requirements and gave good insight to the Diabetes which is a very common and important global disease.
I have successfully completed the one year course in e certificate in Health Programme Management.
I have successfully completed the post graduate studies in family Medicine and General Practice and I got through my MRCGP[INT] exam in September 2013. I have fulfilled the requirements for Membership and have undertaken to discharge the obligations of Membership as an international Member.
Successfully completed the MBBS course and got a second class Honours in the Final MBBS Examination held in 2002. Successfully completed the one year Internship Appoinment for the prescribed period since 2003 february to 2004 february with Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Four Consultants of The Professorial Paediatrics Unit of Colombo South Teaching Hospita Sri Lanka.
