I engaged in the development and manage the execution of global strategies and tactical plans for the department/function (organization planning, product planning, technical & infrastructure planning and financial planning). I provided guidance and motivation to subordinate leaders and staff to ensure successful completion of departmental objectives.

I provide leadership, management and development of the department employees including performance management, individual development planning, succession planning, employee communications and positive working environment to ensure high productivity, employee engagement and performance.

I develop, plan, manage and forecast associated cost center(s), unit costs, employee complement and capital expenditures. I evaluate, negotiate, develop and manage preferred vendor relationships to provide with the highest value, lowest overall cost with highest quality service globally. I also lead domestic and international vendor bidding and formal Request for Proposal processes. I monitor contract compliance on an ongoing basis.

Accomplishment:
Started up this corporation from grounds-up in a foreign country and learning a new language called Cebuano/Visayan.

I still worked dual roles in NEC as an Implementation Consultant (40%) whilst doing 1st & 2nd Level support (60%) for those customers who had Maintenance Support with us. This includes providing first hand high-level on-site support to the local staff as well by rapport building among business units. Maintaining the clients’ licensing collection into our SAP/B1 CRM system and coming up with automated management notifications and reports is all part of my day to day activities. I also configured VMWare bare-metal hypervisor for the NEC cloud server for clients’ support testing environment. I worked with Business Managers to provide product, business and technical knowledge in support of pre-sales activities.

I manage and trained a team of current and new consultants by helping them with their project deployment in order to ensure project time-lines and all deliverables are met. I act as a bridge between the Business Managers and the Software Development Manager, as I will produce the Operational and Technical process flows for the design specifications and Man-days estimation and allocation of the non standard SAP/B1 customizations.

While doing support for all of our existing clients, I mainly do investigation and troubleshooting of functional and specific client business processes in order to pin-point the root of the problem. All this is possible as we have a standard operating procedure of our support knowledge base system; which keeps track of those clients with customized solutions and their respective technical and architecture documentations.

Reason for leaving:
I was given the opportunity to start-up an academic and consultancy corporation from grounds-up in a foreign country.

i. As a SAP consultant, one of my primary task was to implement SAP Business One for the client. I did project preparation by defining the goals and objectives, clarifying the scope of the implementation, defining the project schedule, implementation sequence, establishing the project organization participants and assign resources. I need to come up with the User Requirement Study (URS) documentation for the client to approve and sign off. Should there be any new business requirements or amendments after the sign off, I will interpret, design and come up with the Technical Specification documents to send it to our R&D department so that they could give me the Man-days required for this customization. I will then discuss with our Consulting Manager with regards to the extra pricing. Then I will produce a Variance Order (VO) quotation and hand it over to the client for approval of these additional billing charges. I also do custom reports by using Crystal Reports with SAP/B1 MS SQL (.MDB) database. I also did PDAs and POS (iVend Retail) for some of the clients.

ii. As a HansaWorld consultant (PM), I basically did all of the same processes as a SAP consultant. The modules of the HansaWorld would include General Ledger, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Job Costing, CRM and POS. I interpret written business requirements to create Technical Specification documents. I also do custom reports by using Hansa Application Language (HAL) programming and Qlik with HansaWorld proprietary (.HDB) database. I was sent to Prague in Czech Republic for the HansaWorld training. I managed a team of HAL programmers by merging, streamlining, checking and discussing their codes. I also brainstorm with my HAL development team and gave them opportunities to come up with fresh new ideas so as to make them have personal ownership with their work and promote efficient team relationship.

iii. As a FlexProcess consultant, I was sent to Tokyo in Japan for the new global NEC FlexProcess training. The Teijin Group headquartered in Japan wanted to standardize the current legacy FlexProcess ERP application with the revised new one. I then implemented the new FlexProcess system through a series of planned data conversion, database upgrading, server migration, streamlined operation processes, mitigation tasks for any unexpected adhoc breakage and rigorous testing. I worked with Japanese consultants in Tokyo and Japanese engineers at the chemical plant in Singapore.

Implemented and supported Meiji Seika and Teijin Polycarbonate (S) Pte Ltd.

Reason for transferring:
ObTech was a NEC subsidiary company and so when it was bought over by NEC; most of ObTech employees were brought over to NEC and I was one of them.

Mainly to analyze, debug, customize reports, migration between servers, etc. I also feedback information and enhance the product to ensure all request e.g. customization, enhancement are conveyed to the management party to expedite and follow up. Also to perform and uphold quality control and to ensure successful implementation of system to client. Maintain the database software by doing testing, support the customers by conducting training's, installations and phone support. Lastly creating reports using PowerBuilder to link with Microsoft SQL. The solutions would include Accounting s/w, TouchPOS (Point of Sales), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), Property & Construction, Hotel & Resort and Golfing.

Reason for leaving:
I wanted to upgrade my career by being an SAP Consultant in the Information Technology.

Some of the subjects that I have taught would include C, Java, Turbo Pascal, QBasic, SQL, PHP, Windows NT 4.0, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, Visual Basic Ver 6.0, E-Commerce, Microsoft Office 2000 Level 1 & 2, FrontPage 2000, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash, ASP and last but not least PC Builders and Cabling for Networking. I also assist in conducting training for the lecturers and management reports.

Accomplishment:
 Set up the hardware & software aspect of a LAN/WAN environment in Informatics Computer School Parkway Branch. On hardware, this includes planning and laying of the UTP CAT 5 cables, crimping of the RJ45 connectors, installation of the patch panels, setting up the 2 X 3Com 24 port hubs and lastly configuring of the DLink router for our 64Kbps ISDN connection with StarHub. And on software, I have setup the Win NT 4.0 NOS. This includes configuration of the domains, users, IIS, DHCP, DNS and all the necessary drivers.

 Developed the PC Builders and Cabling course for Informatics Group.

Reason for leaving:
I would like to learn and gain more programming and networking experiences in the Information Technology.

While doing sales for one year in Best Connections, I learned good selling techniques, computer hardware troubleshooting and stock management.

Accomplishment:
I hit my sales target almost every month.

Reason for leaving:
I would like to have a more stable job, than just doing sales.

As a computer draftsman, I have prepared Hewlett Packard's Engineering drawings and illustrations for process documentation in anticipation of ISO9002 Certification.

Accomplishment:
 I assist the Plant Layout Team by drawing the Singapore Hewlett Packard's Plant Layout in Jurong.

 I also programmed a shell for the UNIX system for easy access to the drawings.

Reason for leaving:
I have to serve the mandatory National Service for the Republic of Singapore.
