15 years of experience in Instruments & Control Systems Engineering and Design for EPC Offshore/Onshore projects including Feasibility studies and FEED, my career spanning several countries including Egypt, Holland, KSA and Qatar. Covering Oil & Gas production & processing plants, NGL, LNG, Power distribution, Refineries, Platforms, Pipelines, chemical & petrochemical plants and others. Including the most advanced and largest FPSO deployed in the Norwegian Sea "BP Skarv".

- Preparing, checking and leading the engineering and design teams to produce Instruments & Control Systems deliverables following the clients/International standards, specifications and procedures.

- Planning/scheduling and estimates to complete the Instruments & Control Systems scope of works.

- Cost and Man-hour Estimation of Instruments & Control Systems and MP Planning for proposals.

- Preparing conceptual designs for modifications of new facilities, Design basis, Specifications and requirements for the I&CS part of EPC projects followed by bid evaluations and recommendations.

- Preparation & Checking of field instruments (Including Flow, Temperature, Level, Pressure, Valves and F&G devices. As well as JB’s, Cables, Trays and Glands) Specifications, Datasheets, Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and Vendor documents/drawings Review. In addition to the Sizing Calculations & Selection of Control Valves, Safety Valves and flow orifices, etc.

- Preparation of control systems (ICS, DCS, PMS, ESD/SIS, PLC and F&G) Specifications, Modification Scope of Works, Adequacy check reports, I/O Lists, Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and Vendor documents/drawings Review. Including compressors and turbines control panels.

- Preparation of Block/Logic Diagrams, Cause & Effects, Modbus Lists and Alarm & Trip Schedules.

- Preparation & Checking of Instrument Index’s, I/O Lists, location layouts, Fire and gas drawings, Cable routings, Cable Schedules and Loop/Schematic/Architecture/Wiring & Termination diagrams.

- Preparation & Customization of Hookups “Process, Air Piping, Earthing det. and installation hookups”.

- Supervise the site activities including SAT, installation, commissioning and maintenance in line with the projects specifications, Standards and design deliverables. Also has good exposure to PMC field.

- Participate in the preparation of FEED & Construction Scope of Works, Fire & Safety philosophies, Single Line Diagrams, power consumption lists, UPS Calculations, P&ID’s and Packages drawings.

- Participate in FAT, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and Safety Design Review workshops represent Instruments.

- Familiar with Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus and HART protocols. Including Fiber Optic cables, Media Converters, Distribution patch panels & Telecom systems such as PA/GA, Access Control and CCTV.

- Familiar with Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, ABB, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Foxboro, Triconex, Schneider and ICS Triplex control systems.

- Operation Support and Technical Advisor for Gas Processing Plant operation & maintenance team. Familiar with TWR, MOC, PSSR and RCA.

- Working with Microsoft office, INstCalc, Safety Size, Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) and INtools Programs. Familiar with PDMS, PDS, Microstation and AutoCAD programs.

- Conversant with ISA, ANSI, ISO, NEC, IEC, NFPA, API, ASTM, ASME, NACE, Shell DEPs, BS, Aramco, Qatar Petroleum and NORSOK standards.

- ISA member, Qatari Professional Engineers Committee and Egyptian Engineers Syndicate member.

- Familiar with Aramco work sites and Certified Qatar Petroleum (QP) sites “Work Site Supervisor”.

Work on brown field’s projects for Aramco Yanbu refinery and NGL sites. Helping the projects director leading SOFCON Yanbu office doing the following:-
- Take charge for all technical issues at the office including all disciplines and follow the deadlines of the packages.
- Doing Instrument detailed engineering and design work.
- Handle the work with the construction contractor.
- Communicate with the vendors regarding the technical and commercial offers work on the complete purchasing cycle with the procurement.
- Attend weekly meeting with the client “Aramco” regarding all the projects.
- Attend KICK-OFF meetings for these projects.
- Supervise all the arrangements of the site visits and the required site passes and the required facilities for engineering office.

• Preparation of Instruments & Control Systems engineering deliverables.
• Analysis of Technical Specifications of Projects, Cost Estimation of Field Instruments & Control Systems and Man-hour Estimation & MP Planning for proposals.
• Preparation of Datasheets and Specifications for various instruments like Control Valves, Safety Valves, Smart Transmitters (Pressure, Level, Temperature and Flow), Fire &Gas detectors, Orifice plates, Pressure and Level Switches & others.
• Sizing Calculations & Selection of Control Valves, Safety Valves and Orifices, etc.
• Review and Screening of P&ID’s, Logic Diagram and Cause & Effect.
• Preparation of Design Basis, Instrument Index and I/O List.
• DCS (Yokogawa Centum), SIS, PLC and F&G (Triconex & GE Fanuc), Technical Bid Evaluation, Requisitions and Control Systems Vendor Drawings Review.
• Work on Metering Skid and SCADA RTU’s engineering & Design.
• Preparation of Field Instruments, F&G, Cable Trays and MCT Layouts.
• Preparation & Checking of Junction Boxes wiring details, Loop diagrams, Level Sketches and Instrument location Plans.
• Preparation of Cable schedule, Overall instruments MTO and MCT Design.
• Floating Specifications to Vendors and evaluation of the Technical Offers.
• Co-ordination with the Contractors on technical issues.
• Participation in Kickoff Meeting & Other Project related meetings.
• Work on brown field’s projects for Aramco Yanbu refinery and NGL sites.
• Calibration and Installation Supervision of Field Instruments.
• Working on INstCalc, Safety Size 2004, AutoCAD, Microstation, MS Office, PDMS, PDS, Intergraph Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) and INtools Programs.
• Work for long term assignments abroad at Holland and Saudi Arabia.
• Conversant with ISA, Shell DEPs, NEC, IEC, NFPA, API and NORSOK standards.
