Doctoral Fellow at University of Rome Tor Vergata
  • Italy
  • October 2010 to June 2014

• As a doctoral fellow I had been involved in the development of biomarkers and novel targeted therapies for acute myeloid leukemia. Where my gene of interest is IDH2 (R172K) and I tried to understand the role of Oncoprotein and a transcription factor involved in the signaling pathway of IDH.

• I had been involved in the novel detection method of newly discovered NADP-dependent mitochondrial IDH1 and IDH2 mutations in Acute myeloid leukemia patients through Sanger Sequencing and ASO-PCR- an easy, economic, and less time consuming technique.

• Got expertise in molecular and cellular bio-assay's techniques including cloning, cell culture, evaluation of protein stability and expression in-vitro, following treatment with available effective chemotherapeutic drugs used in leukemias.

• Have been involved in the immunological analysis through flow-cytometry, cell cycle, apoptosis, and cell differentiation in-vitro and in patient’s sample. I extensively worked on human bone marrow cells and immortalized cell lines.

• Maintain and characterize cancer cell lines viz NB4, U937, HL-60

• Perform cell treatment following existing SOPs. Cell culture: adherent and suspension, use automation to increase throughput of cell-based assays, Flow-cytometry (FACS), MTT Assay, cytotoxicity, Immunofluorescence, mycoplasma detection.

• Perform cellular mechanism of action studies

• Researching, developing and applying systems to develop molecular & cell biology-based assays

• All elements of experiments, including planning, execution, quantitative data analysis, and interpretation, are carried out with the intent of enhancing assay-related protocols and data analysis methodologies.

• Generated modified cell lines using transfection or viral transduction, then use flow cytometry to analyze cellular function.

• Designed and constructed by specific antibody screening assays using functional cell-based assays.
