MV SEL switchgear following up contractor requests for projects RMU & MRMU

Projects Sales Engineer responsible for wide portfolio of products like Low Voltage (LV) Panels, Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgears and Ring Main Units (RMU), Oil type and Dry Type Transformers, Package Substations and Unit Substations, Cables, Control Panels, Motor Control Centers (MCC), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Synchronization Panels, ets.


Some of my duties:
1- Maintain a close contact with existing & potential clients. Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximizing client potential in designated regions.
2- Developing long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements.
3- Persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery.
4- Negotiating the projects and the contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company's needs.
5- Calculating client quotations and administering client accounts.
6- Follow-up with the clients on the quotations submitted to secure orders.
7- Keep a close watch on the activities of the competitors.
8- Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product advices.
9- Working on after-sales support services and providing technical back up as required.
10- Analyzing costs and sales.
11- Preparing reports for Management and keeping customer records.
12- Meeting regular sales targets and coordinating sales projects.
13- Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
14- Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs.

Project Study and Evaluation

*Attend project launching meeting of the project(s) as required by the Team Leader.
*Prepare Job File following the standard filing procedure of the department.
*Study and evaluate the Contractual documents as received from the launching meeting
*Define the job technically by making all customer’s requirements and specifications explicitly.
*Define the need for additional resources/manpower(i.e Autocad Operator) when needed.
*Agree/Discuss the schedules with the Team Leader/Design Section Manager.

Submittal of drawings to Sales/Projects Team

*Use of Standardized Solutions.
*Use of design software to ensure accurate drawings.
*Ensure that standard drawing format and symbols are followed during drawing preparation. *Ensure submittal is made as per agreed schedules
*Supervise the CAD Operator-when provided in transforming the technical data into panel layout, one line diagram, civil work guide and schematic design from hand drafted into ACAD format design.
*Checking of the ACAD drawings to ensure that all related information necessary for the design are considered.

Release of BOM both Long Lead & Miscellaneous Components

*Check and issue the BOMs for long lead materials within one day after receipt of IPO to SAP
*Issue balance materials within one week after receipt of IPO.


Release of Production Drawings and monitoring the progress during manufacturing

*Use of Monthly Plans as basis of priority for Production Release.
*Check and ensure that BOMs are matching between SAP & Production Drawings.
*Release the latest/Production drawings to Mechanical Team as per agreed schedule for MMR Issuance.
*Provide technical supports during production
*Attend and closure of outstanding issues that affects the progress in Productions on timely manner allowing subsequent actions to be completed.

• Design shop drawings and wires lighting for malls and stores.
• Design the load schedule and loads distributions for stores.
• Riser schematic diagram for main and sub main control panels.
• Design the electrical load schedule for any project.
• Checking the invoices and quotations which submitted from subcontractors.
• Prepare the (BOQ’s) bill of quantity for stores.

Responsible of construction drawings site supervision for power distribution, interconnection diagrams, schematics, Conveyor controls, lighting, A/B DCS computer interlocks, and control panel layouts
Electrical power plans, lighting systems, grounding plans, power plans for misc, and low voltage control.
Life safety and security systems
Performed necessary calculations to size substations, conduit and wire, fuse size.
Branch circuits. Prepared construction drawings using AUTOCAD
Supervision on site
Utility support system
