Highlights:
• Responsible for the operation of power generation plant and its auxiliaries, aimed at fulfilling production schedules and providing for the needs of industrial facilities, equipment and residential and support buildings.
• Served as a key member of commissioning of steam turbine control system upgrade to DCS and team member of MARAFIQ Permit to Work System.
• Designated as Authorized Permit Controller as safety advisor, auditor and inspector and Internal Auditor of Environmental Management System EMS (ISO 14001:2004).
• Lead/Joined many RCA teams for major incidents and provided quick remedial actions.
• Completed MARAFIQ leadership development program and deputed as a leader of Plant reliability management PRM team who handles Power Plant reliability issues.

Key Responsibilities:
• Optimizing the operation of GTG/HRSG Plant, BSDG, DM water plant, Sales Gas receiving station, Fuel Storage area, Fire Protection Systems and Power Supply of Plant Facilities; managing staff and ensuring full compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Maximizing power generation operations in order to secure continuously increased availability reliability, efficiency, Safety and environmental standards as well as utilization rate of facilities and equipment.
• Taking corrective actions in case of upset/disruption of all gas turbine/ heat recovery steam generators and their associated auxiliaries.
• Developing manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
• Maintaining inter/intra departmental communication with Power Dispatch, Maintenance, Water Production, Technical support, Reliability & Assets, Facility Planning, Procurement & Contract and Project for facilitating smooth operations.
• Making sure the team is continuously encouraged by an invigorating workplace climate, thereby optimizing its performance, monitoring the development of activities, providing for adequate training and encouraging the fulfillment of goals.
• Monitoring key performance indicators to assess labor and variance to budget, productivity, and schedule adherence in addition to investigating and reporting incidents and recommending appropriate changes.

Other Participation's & Projects:
• Monitor and supervise the installation and commissioning of Sales Gas system (fuel conversion project).
• Oversaw the installation and commissioning of new Hydrogen Plant (replacement plant).
• Managed the commissioning of power plant operations SIMULATOR.
• Team member of commissioning of new large Gas Turbine frame 7 E and Heat Recovery Steam Generator.

Operation Engineer at Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu - Power & Water Complex

Joined Royal commission time in 2001, then plant was taken over by MARAFIQ;subsequently transferred to MARAFIQ with new contract at the same position under MARAFIQ policies and procedures till 2006.

Key Responsibilities:
• Planned, organized and coordinated execution of operational activities of Plant & Equipments ensuring all productivity, quality and efficiency targets are met including day-to-day management and ongoing training of Shift Managers and Team Leaders.
• Implemented plant safety programs and ensured compliance with all operational requirements, standard operating procedures, performing routine tests/changes-over, and executing maintenance planning and supervise shutdown activities.
• Coordinated all assigned equipment maintenance and repair projects with both Maintenance and Operations for scheduled and unscheduled work necessary to maintain and / or improve the relaibility and capacity of the plant.
• Monitored and continually maintained the general health of all assigned equipment and related auxiliary systems, evaluate/implement modifications as requested and approved in order to ensure budgeted capacity, availability and equivalent forced outage rates of the facility.
• Evaluated equipment operational data and determined proper course of action to maximize production and reduce expense without impairing equipment. Reported reoccurring shutdowns or equipment to operations managers for analysis, and participated in corrective actions.
• Worked with and trained Maintenance and Plant Operations Personnel in the most reliable, safe and efficient methods for equipment and plant operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment and related systems.
• Provided strategic inputs in reviewing new project submittals and attending technical evaluations of bidders; developed bid specifications for equipment, materials and services, evaluated the resulting bids and implement approved purchases.
• Involved in procuring plant supplies and replacement equipment in an efficient manner by identifying needs in advance, managing vendors, and working within established guidelines.
• Controlled the usage of raw materials, chemicals and other plant utilities effectively to an optimum level in safe manner.
• Maintained all assigned equipment and related systems inspections, testing and history records for the facility and provide technical expertise, leadership and assistance for ancillary improvement projects as assigned.

• Executed operational activities in utilities, optimized the daily operations of units and ensured safety and operational reliability of Power Plant and its auxiliaries including sales gas receiving station, fuel storage, water treatment plant.
• Lead control room and field operators for troubleshooting and tackling emergency situation during operation of the plant and conducted first level of investigations of any incidents/accidents and participated in risk analysis for any unusual operational or maintenance activities.

• Organized and coordinated the execution of operational activities; inspected plant and equipment and raised the work orders accordingly.
• Took up full responsibility for health and safety across all production and operation activities, targeting safe works, issuing permit to work (PTW) and safety tags when requested and progressing as per schedule, with desired quality and with both efficient and effective approach.
• Communicated plant problem to maintenance according to operation log and reading sheets.
• Took immediate corrective actions to limit risk to personnel, plant equipment and production during emergency situations.
• Adhered to company’s safety policy, standards and approved operating procedures while performing the duties / tasks.
