Roles and responsibilities:
• Development of engineering codes, standards, technical and electrical specifications such as electrical design basis, electrical equipment specifications and automation systems for KIPIC and KNPC, material specification, datasheets, engineering drawings, procedures, guidelines, forms, and best practices.
• Preparation of FEED documents and drawings, bid engineering estimates for the project.
• Review of SLD / 3 LD / Schematic Diagram, Cable Selection and Sizing, Electrical Layouts such as Power, Lighting, Grounding, Equipment, Cable Routing and Lightning, CT and VT Specification documents, Fault Level Calculation & Relay Coordination, Vendor Evaluation, Cathodic Protection (CP) systems, Hazardous Area Classification, Electrical Specs and Datasheet, Cable Schedule, Electrical Calculations and ETAP studies, UPS Battery Calculations, Grounding calculations, Lighting calculations, fire alarm system layouts, Cable Tray sizing, power system studies such as load flow studies, short circuit studies, relay coordination studies, harmonic studies, and arc flash studies.
• Attend site surveys with PMC and contractors to determine requirements necessary for an accurate and competitive design proposal.
• Actively participated in safety assessment workshop such as PSSR, HAZID and HAZOP studies.
• Preparation of scope of work for electrical projects and work orders.
• Review of stakeholder procedures such as HSE, process and maintenance procedures.
• Ensures value engineering by optimizing the codes, standards, and technical specifications for CAPEX and OPEX projects without compromising on safety and quality.
• Supports cross discipline engineers for the preparation of specifications, procurement, and planning.
• Arrange and attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with contractors/PMC.
• Online access to international codes and standards contracts administration.
• Shell DEP contract administration.
• Coordination for certification to various international bodies such as ISO, API, AWS.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and training to KIPIC employees.
Projects:
• Design and construction of 11kV elevated main intake substations B4, B5 and MG2 in S&EK, KOC, Kuwait
• Bulk handling facilities for production chemicals in SEK, WK and NK areas, KOC, Kuwait
• Improvement in firefighting and security systems in S&EK, KOC, Kuwait
• Installation of lightning protection system in S&EK, KOC, Kuwait
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Assisting design through various stage gates in FEED
• Supervise contractor’s works and maintain the required records and associated registers.
• Verify measures of works completed and prepare regular reports on the progress vs. programme.
• Review and comment on contractor submissions
• Attend inspections with authorities.
• Review design and assist in co-ordination with other disciplines to ensure constructability.
• Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue site instructions.
• Ensure all material inspection and testing is conducted in accordance with the specification and the contract requirements.
• Review and prepare responses to contractor’s submissions (i.e., Method Statements, RFIs, ITPs)
• Observe site safety and issue notices as appropriate.
• Check instructions are being conducted.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of records, including As Built documentation.
• Ensure Contractor is working to latest approved shop drawings.
• Permit Applicant for various brown field and Permit issuer for various green field areas.
• Ensures that the work is done as per the AFC drawings and KOC standards.
• Preparation of SLD / 3 LD / Schematic Diagram, Cable Selection / Sizing, Preparation of Electrical Layouts/ Power/ Lighting/ Grounding /Equipment / Cable Routing / Lightning, CT and VT Specification, Fault Level Calculations & Relay Coordination, Hazardous Area Classification, Electrical Specs/ Datasheet, Cable Schedule, Electrical Calculations and ETAP, UPS Battery Calculations, Grounding calculation, Lighting calculation, Cable Tray sizing, Material take-off, commissioning procedure
• Perform power system studies such as short circuit, coordination, motor starting, insulation coordination and transient study using ETAP.
• Review Bids and Technical Evaluation
• Visit construction/plant sites and fabrication shops & during design phase on as required basis.
• Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with contractors/PMC.
• Ensure all material inspection and testing is conducted in accordance with the specification and the contract requirements with vendors.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities.
• Commissioning of electrical equipment such as transformer, switchgear, earthing and lighting system, motors, generators, luminaires, small power receptacles.
• Preparation of HSE related procedures for a safe commissioning.
• Preparation of list of consumables, tools, and equipment for commissioning.
• HAZID and HAZOP study evaluation prior to commissioning.
• Performing Electrical Maintenance of Power transformer, Transmission Lines, 220kV / 110kV / 15kV / 11kV Isolators, UPS and Battery Charger, Synchronous Motor, 220kV and 15kV Panels, Current transformer, Potential transformer, Variable Speed Drives, Circuit breaker and Relays, Lightning arrestor, Light Fittings and SCADA.
• Troubleshooting electrical faults.
• Preventive maintenance of all electrical equipment in industrial electrical systems
• Identifying the required personnel for the preventive maintenance.
• Ensuring full safety measures before and during the works in accordance with the Electricity Safety Act, 2003, India.
• Conducting modification to the existing electrical system in power generation and power distribution plants.
• Assisting in House Projects for modification / expansion and power automation of the existing substation.
• Calculating Demand Factor of the substation for proper distribution of loads.
• Design and installation of CCTV system.
• Design of electrical drawings for private homes and commercial buildings.
• Installation of automation systems for private homes and commercial buildings.
