Develop the HR strategy and see to the execution of HR plans/programs across the Group with a pragmatic approach that balances Board requirements and employees’ expectations
Leading a team of more than 40 Human Capital professionals, I provide strategic guidance and leadership in all Human Capital areas to support existing operations and future openings of Carrefour stores across Egypt and East Africa
• Partner with the MD and the rest of the leadership team to promote a compliant and engaging work environment to all employees
• Develop the HR strategy and priorities for the unit and see to the implementation of all relevant actions and monitor progress against KPI’s
• Function as the expert on talent management and organization development
• Provide guidance to the HR team on all HR related functions such as C&B, Talent Acquisition and Labor Relations
Since my move to GE after the GE/Alstom alliance in Nov 2015, I have been looking after HR for GE Energy Connections in MENAT (Middle East, North Africa and Turkey) Region. Leading a team of 8 HR Professionals in a complex matrix structure, I support 3 Business Leaders and provide HR coverage to a large and culturally diverse population (+2000 employees) in a highly dynamic Region (15 countries) with significant financial impact.
Earlier in Alstom, I handled multiple roles in a Regional capacity: started with HR Leadership for a single business then grew further into larger roles covering HR for the whole Region for several businesses in Alstom portfolio as well as leading the HR CoE in the Middle East Region.
Accelerated career progression assuming 3 different leadership roles in 3 different countries in 5 years' time. Started as HR Manager in Pakistan, followed by a Regional role in Dubai and finally HR & Admin Director for the second largest cement operation in the world located in Egypt.
1. Full responsibility for the entire HR and Administration function including but not limited to
recruitment activities, training & development plans, and compensation & benefits policies
2. Select and supervise the Human Resources consultants, training providers and insurance brokers to provide the best possible service for the company and employees
3. Act as the company main interface with external stakeholders such as government authorities,
service providers, employment agencies, etc
4. Set and monitor the HR & admin budget allocated to training, compensation & benefits, recreation,
and transportation for the company population.
Joining the first privately owned mobile service provider in Egypt, I developed my HR foundation and experience in a very dynamic and rewarding environment. Took two different roles in recruitment and training & development where I hired and on boarded hundreds of employees in several departments. I also designed a full-fledged management development track that targeted almost 150 people leaders in the company
1. Translation of military books, technical manuals, reports, meeting minutes, lesson plans and
exams.
2. Training delivery to newly hired interpreters with emphasis on technical matters related to the
work environment.
An intensive 10 months' program focusing on Human Resources aspects
Intensive 4 years' program in English language and literature that included: Novel, Drama, Literary Criticism, Poetry, Culture, Grammar and Linguistics, Essay Writing, Oral Conversation, Translation from English into Arabic and vise versa, Arabic and French.
