As Master Data Management (MDM) Consultant I am responsible for providing industry, conceptual and practical guidance and direction on MDM practices, processes, architectures and governance.
I am working to support Progressive insurance company in replacing their legacy system with a new IBM MDM solution.
The project is including but not limited to:
• Architectural design of MDM solution encompassing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), Database, MDM and outbound data synchronization components
• Developed data conversion and data loading programs that integrated insurance data from 6 different custodians on a daily basis. Previous system was loaded manually on a monthly basis.
• Migration of subset data from the current system in to the new MDM solution, using data mapping documents provided by IBM/Progressive.
• Data validation and standardization using IBM Data quality.
• Documentation and analysis of MDM requirements and solution context.
• Guidance on implementing the MDM solution.
• Full life-cycle Implementation of the IBM InfoSphere MDM Standard and Advanced Editions.
• Knowledge/guidance of Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE) platform (including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Service Definitions Language (WSDL)/Extensible Markup Language Schema Definition (XSD).
• Data Analysis.
• Knowledge/guidance of Relational database and Structured Query Language (SQL, PL/SQL).
• Knowledge/guidance transfer of ETL implementation.

I am working to support District of Columbia government in (AHDP) The Affordable Housing Data Project. The primary objective of this project to build a robust and intelligent system that will help Business people to strategize based on analysis of conformed Facts and Dimensions. Designing and implementing the ETL processes using Informatica 8.6.1 which involve collection of data from heterogeneous sources like, Oracle, SQL Server 2000/2005, Quick-Base system.
• Work directly with functional analysts and business users in understanding the information needs of the business and developing new data warehouse/BI functionalities or tools to meet these requirements.
• Responsible for translating the Business requirements into technical specifications.
• Support existing Data warehouse reporting platform and applications to ensure operational availability and scalability.
