• Devised Market and Financial Feasibility plans for prospective events;
• Research contribution in developing the agenda and collaboration in devising an objective ranking framework for banks/companies for the following conferences:
o World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC); WIBC is one of the world's largest and influential gathering of global Islamic finance leaders for over two decades attended by 1300 participants from 50 countries conducted under the patronage of Central Bank of Bahrain.
Prepared session briefing documents and agenda for various topics on asset management and banking ranging from the evolving role of Fintech companies (Bitcoin, MPESA, Crowdfunding) to topics affecting the global macro economy (China’s economic impact on the MENSEA region to commodity price movements and Euro’s growth impact on North Africa)
Designed the WIBC leaderboard, providing dynamic rankings of Islamic banks as compared to their peers at the global, regional and national levels, based on various robust financial and governance metrics.
o Middle East Insurance Forum (MEIF). MEIF is the region’s leading insurance platform that has served a key role in the development of the industry for the past 12 years.
Prepared agenda, highlighting various topics such as the role of big data and analytics for ME insurance to the effects of global consolidation and overcapacity threatening market profitability.
Developed a ranking index for insurance companies in the Middle East based on key insurance financial metrics.
o International Forum on Islamic Finance (IFIF). IFIF is held in Africa serving as platform for the International Islamic finance and investments industry to converge in Khartoum.
Prepared agenda, highlighting various topics ranging from micro finance and its role in financial inclusion to the scope of sukuk in developing capital markets in Africa.
• Collaborated in producing the ‘Finance Forward Islamic Finance Outlook Report 2016’.
o Global macro-economic outlook and its effect on Islamic finance and financial performance analysis of the leading banks on a global and regional basis.
• Collaborated in producing the ‘Finance Forward Middle East Insurance Outlook Report 2016’.
o Global macro-economic outlook and its effect on Middle east insurance sectors and pressing issues affecting the insurance companies in the light of the financial analysis of those companies.
• Produced the ‘Finance Forward World Takaful Report’ launched at WTC in partnership with DIFC.
• Contribution to the weekly Finance Forward newsletter covering seasonal topics affecting the financial and economic landscape of the MENASEA region.
• Thematic research on Economic and Investment Climate in the MENASEA region.
GOLCER is a hub for interdisciplinary research in quantitative aspects of economics and finance at Lancaster University Management School. Comprising of researchers and students from the Department of Economics as well as other global academic institutions, the research expertise of GOLCER lies in the area of applied econometric modelling, Islamic finance, energy markets and environmental economics
• • Published research on the causal relationship between efficiency and risk in Islamic and conventional banks in the GCC.
• Thematic research on Economic and Investment Climate in the GCC
• Researched the interlink ages between bank capital, risk and efficiency in Islamic and conventional banks in the GCC.
• Researched the yield-spread determinants of Sukuk and Conventional bonds; Evidence from the Malaysia.
• Initiated the publication of the monthly bulletin reporting the developments in the Islamic Finance Industry.
o Forecasted price movements and volatility the commodity, CDS and equity market.
• Gained proficiency in STATA, EViews and MS Excel for Financial Modelling and Econometric application of data required to publish the monthly and quarterly reports.
• “The Outlook for Islamic REITs as an Investment vehicle”, article published in New Horizon Islamic Banking magazine- (one of the oldest Islamic banking magazines in circulation in the UK).

Assisted in portfolio formulation by screening out fundamentally strong stocks for investment analysis by analyzing companies in the Oil and Gas Marketing Sector, Refinery and Chemical sector using various financial
measures. Kept track of all analyst reports analyst briefings, media discussions, latest announcements and trading
data of the companies in the assigned sector.
Lead a team of research analysts to create a data base in MS Access for generating daily reports, which reduced the daily reports generation time by 25%.
Conducted Technical Analysis using MetaStock software, which complemented the findings derived though
fundamental analysis aiding in recommending stocks to the portfolio manager.
Wrote research reports and gave presentations about potential buy stocks to the upper management based on different valuation methodologies such as Discounted Cash Flow.
