Emphasis on development of opportunities for either tendering for government projects example infrastructure, Oil/Gas, Energy, power generation, Finance and construction projects, Alternative power, solid waste to power and waste heat to power projects or private business in Construction of buildings and setting up of joint ventures. My role is networking and setting up the professional entities to submit to the government suitable / turnkey solutions.
Work involved setting up of connections in Ghana and travel for meetings to develop a Power Purchase Agreeement with the government there to build a 50MW solar power plant.
Mainly development of project opportunities in investment in Oil/Gas business, setting up consortiums for tendering infrastructure projects,
Provided technical advice to HE the Ambassador of South Korea in the Energy Sector. Monitored international political and economic conditions and made summaries of consequences of influence of such changes on prices of Natural gas and LNG in particular.
Provided HE with Local and Regional business opportunities suitable for South Korean Companies.
Mainly worked in the developing activities of two projects a refinery in Malaysia, and another in Libya. negotiated with equity investors to participate in the Malaysia project. But for the Libya refinery managed to establish a Joint venture between two groups who ultimately signed MOU with the government of Libya to acquire 50% of the libya refinery.
Developed Asset Management Programmes for equipment which included development of scope of work, tendering and awarding of contracts to qualified contractors for acquisition of equipment data from field locations, as built drawings and vendor manuals, establishing equipment hierarchies, development of philosophy plans for execution and application of Functional Criticaliy Analysis (FCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Risk Spares Analysis. Consequently generated maintenance strategies based on Reliability and Condition Based Maintenance philosophy. All associated data was populated in SAP interim Data Base for audit and verification prior to uploading to Qatar Petroleum SAP AG system.
I initiated and developed a ‘Specification’ called ‘Design For Operation’ which I promoted to Engineering Department to include maintenance Operations requirements in their design, Engineering and Construction of new facilities. This specification became corporate Specification in QP and its subsidiaries.
Produced all maintenance plans and programmes for the Dukhan Field activities e.g. scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and inspection activities including plant modifications work to minimize plant downtime. Prepared Plant Shutdown contracts including procurement of early spares for workshop and site activities in coordination with section engineers, production and projects personnel. Managed the Department’s computerized Maintenance and Information system \[Teroman\]. Supervised Major data update contract for Dukhan field equipment undertaken by Foster Wheeler MOL \[commenced 4/8/1996 and completed in 1998\]. Developed and implemented corrective work control procedures. Responsilble for monitoring usage of Teroman and its application to the Maintenance business.
Generated department weekly, monthly and adhoc business reports including availability and reliability reports for rotating equipment. Updated equipment database as consequence of plant modifications, equipment failure and write offs. Supervised a team of 10 \[Ten\] planning personnel.
Directed and supervised a Division which provides a broad range of management services to other Division Heads and Department manager, covering maintenance planning, project scheduling, computerized information, materials coordination, contracts administration, estimating, cost control, budgetary preparation, and statistical reporting.
Supervised and coordinated mechanical, electrical and instrument maintenance activities to support production operations. Ensured, through the implementation of planned maintenance programmes, the safe, cost effective & reliable operation of the three Main Oil and Associated Gas Production facilities in Dukhan field namely Khatiyah, Fahahil and Jaleha. Attended regular meetings with Production, Engineering and Inspection personnel to review scheduled work programmes during shutdown activities. Reviewed and coordinated Departmental response to technical matters relating to new major non-routine and capital modifications works from the approach proposal (AP) stages, through conceptual and detailed design, procurement and construction, to the commissioning and handover stages. Participated in the commissioning and handover activities, punch listing and final acceptance of new production facilities and equipment. Attended FAT \[factory acceptance tests\] for certain rotating and stationary equipment. Supervised a team of 30 \[thirty\] maintenance personnel of different disciplines.
Delmon U.A.E. Ltd., Dubai : Established a factory to produce snack foods for local and international markets. Involved in plant installation and general management. Investment and Partnership arrangement.
Responsible for site supervision, control and execution of construction contracts within agreed budgets, timescales and technical specifications. Work included the following projects :
Shah Field construction from mobilisation to commissioning.
Construction and refurbishment of Powered Water Injection system at Asab Field.
Modifications to main oil lines (pigging facilities).
Construction of residential and recreational facilities at Asab Field.
Acted as Senior Construction Engineer on several occasions.
Responsible for maintenance of all field mechanical equipment relating to oil production, pumping, storage facilities, water injection installations and power generation gas turbine generator units. Equipment included Rolls Royce Avon/GEC gas turbine generator units, Ruston gas turbine, Mather and Platt oil pumps, Brown Bingham and United Centrifugal water pumps and Ingersoll Rand compressors.
Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Leeds University, England. Grade III
