• Identify training and development needs within the organisations through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and human resources departments
• Design and expand training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual
• Work in a team to produce programmes that are satisfactory to all relevant parties in an organisation, such as line managers, senior managers at board level and all other employees
• Consider the costs of planned programmes and keep within budgets as assessing the return on investment of any training or development programme is increasingly important
• Develop effective induction programmes
• Conduct appraisals
• Devise individual learning plans
• Produce training materials for in-house courses
• Manage the delivery of training and development programmes and devise a training strategy for the organisation
• Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers
• Ensure that statutory training requirements are met
• Evaluate training and development programmes
• Amend and revise programmes as necessary, to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
• Help line managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
• Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses
• Understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, be involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages
• Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and present this research
• Selecting and developing teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works.
• Building HSE Training Programmes
• Inductions on new joiners
• Conducting training sessions related to Occupational Safety, Emergency Services, Health, Environment and Risk Assists in the development of appropriate mandatory HSE training matrixes for all employees.
• Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of HSE training and develops appropriate training solutions/changes to ensure a high level of quality and competency.
• Identifying and implementing and maintaining appropriate training facilities, materials, and resources to support HSE training needs
• Submit regular reports to the HSE Manager on the status of the HSE training programme.
• Development and delivery of HSE courses in consistency with employee’s individual development plan.
• Liaising with other on-job training staff to ensure full compatibility of on-job & off-job training, meeting with them regularly, & visiting locations where trainees are receiving on-job training.
• Ensuring consistency of training activities & documentation across all company disciplines.
• Monitoring trainee’s progress & implementing corrective action as necessary.
• Preparing monthly written reports and trainees progress.
• Liaising using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of training activates.
• Planning and carrying out local training activities to agreed budgets and timescales and to integrate.
