Pre-commissioning - punch-listing (all systems); air blowing, water flushing, oil flashing, and chemical cleaning.
Commissioning - field-checking: catalyst / chemical loading; N2 gas inertion; HPTT / LPTT for vessels and piping; MRT rotating equipment; PSSR (checklist, confirmation, punch kill); startup operations and performance testing, including rotating equipment.
Operations - training on monitoring, recording for instruments, gauges, alarms, chemical processes and equipment; LOTO (per PTWs); testing startup, shutdown, isolation and maintenance; emergency procedures.
Worked with maintenance, safety and production teams to minimize downtime and maximize output; and with laboratory for sampling of gases, polymer and chemicals.
Reported production issues to shift supervisor.
Tubular/ Gas Phase Reactor licensed by LyondellBassell - spheripol technology; extruder CMP308; production 350 ktpa.
Pre-commissioning and Commissioning Leader
Pre-commissioning - piping flushing-blowing, Inerting / dry out, vessels / hydro-testing, reinstatement and conformity check, chemical cleaning, catalyst loading; working with vendors and licensors to prepare rotating equipment.
Commissioning:
1. Integrated Function testing (IFT) / efficiency / load / operation tests, as applicable, on - pumps, compressors, extruder startup, interlocks, seals, bearing temperatures, oil / minimum flow, vibrations, speed, and surge limits.
2. Fire system checks - alarms, gas detectors, water, deluge systems, and flare headers.
3. Utilities - cooling, pellet cutting / refrigerated water; low / medium / high pressure steam; Instrument and plant air; nitrogen / carbon monoxide / peroxide systems.
Initial / startup field operations and performance test - all sections of the PPU, and rotating equipment.
Plant licensed by ENI: incoming petroleum gases post-separation, from on/offshore gas purified by 2 and 3-phase separators (LTS); compression by reciprocating and centrifugal turbine compressors, and separation in the deethanizer and debutanizer to control the LPG specifications; passed through cooling and liquefaction by propane Sheller and turbine compressor; stored in sphere tanks for shipping.
Accountabilities
Controlled, variously, safety, operability, and throughput of LPG quality; plant startup and shutdown (Siemens PLC); inspections (rotating equipment and locating potential safety improvements).
Units operated and monitored - gas purification / dehydration / hot oil / liquefaction; and GT and PT Hitachi gas turbine compressors.
Worked with the laboratory to assess analysis and thus adjust operations.
