Ecopack Limited is a Public Limited Company, listed in Karachi Stock Exchange. It is one of the largest manufacturing units of PET bottles & Preforms in Pakistan. Being Manager Accounts, I am responsible for:
Preparation & analyzing monthly income statement and cost of goods sold statement
Preparation of annual and interim financial statements as per statutory requirements
Preparation of cost of production report and product costing
Valuation of closing stock (WIP & finished goods) on monthly basis
Monthly calculation of abnormal wastage of raw & packing materials and its relevant accounting treatment
Reconciliation of GL and store inventory on quarterly basis (for raw & packing materials and general consumables)
Analysis of the overhead expenses and determination of basis for overhead allocation to different products
Variance analysis of admin & selling expenses on monthly basis and reporting to top Management
Maintaining fixed asset register including depreciation calculation, revaluation, working for incremental depreciation and addition/deletion of assets, inter-office transfers during the period
Maintaining record of all leased assets (plant & machinery and vehicles etc.) including verification of lease rentals and its related accounting & reporting trail
Preparation & e-filing of monthly sales tax return and coordinate with FBR officials during sales tax audit
Preparation& e-filing of annual tax return of income tax and quarterly advance tax statements of the company
Custodian of annual capital budget and its allocation to respective capital projects
Maintaining CEO’s personal transactions record with the company
Maintaining provident fund record and finalization of PF accounts
Verification of all the Payment Vouchers and Journal Vouchers
Coordination with internal & external auditors assuring smooth and timely completion of audits
Prepare and provide specific management reports as and when required
Supervision of overall accounting functions
S. U. Khan & Co., is a professional firm engaged in accounting, auditing, taxation and management consultancy services. During the job of two and half years with the firm, I remained involve in various assignments. Being a team member my responsibilities were:
Conducting audit & assurance assignments and cost audits of various clients
Providing taxation services to clients, including preparation and filing of monthly withholding tax statements, advance tax statements and annual returns.
Designing and implementing computerized accounting and internal control systems for clients
Maintaining computerized accounting records of various clients which were outsourced to our firm
Preparation and filing annual corporate returns of different companies to SECP and dealing with corporate issues of the clients
Carrying out feasibility study, income estimation and asset valuation assignments for various clients
Providing solutions to the clients on issues related to financial accounting, costing and internal controls
Providing facilitation to the clients during on site verification of the accounting and costing information by the government authorities
In addition to above, I also remained involve in providing WTO consultancy (Antidumping measures, in compliance with Antidumping Duties Ordinance, 2000) to various domestic industries from the forum of M/s S. U. Khan Associates, Management Consultants. It involved analysis of costing and financial data, analyzing financial injury, preparation of antidumping cases and filing with the National Tariff Commission.
