Baghlaf Al Zafer Metal Industries was established in Sharjah in 1996 and one of the pioneers in the roofing and cladding industry. As a finance manager of a well established organization I am responsible for all functions of the Accounting and Finance department some of which, if not all, are:
- Reporting directly to CEO and responsible for leading the finance team of six executives
- Daily activities of company including finance and accounts up to finalization
- Preparing regular and ad hoc analysis reports to follow up the business performance
- Performing monthly reconciliation of actual income/expenses in statutory books to actual flows
- Reporting and following the business KPI's
- Managing working capital cycle to ensure the smooth flow of funds
- Review aging balances for all assigned accounts and escalate unresolved, unexplained, and aged items to the next level of supervision to ensure timely resolution
- Controlling of all the development projects and ensuring their viability, feasibility and actual monitoring of the related capital work in progress
- Supporting implementation of the financial planning and forecasting processes and adapt to changing business conditions and strategies, proactively support and influence the related business planning processes
- Preparation and analysis of financial statement and different reports required by management relating to invoices, purchases, revenue and expenses
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Dealing with company’s bankers, insurers and suppliers outside UAE
- Preparation and submission of company’s VAT returns according to local tax laws
- Handling Inventory, Account Payables, Receivables, reconciliation with customers and suppliers, Petty Cash, Cash Flow management etc.
- Assist with the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts in coordination with various business unit heads
- Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control
- Lead the development and participate in the implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure payments/commitments for capital and revenue expenses are in accordance with the approval limits and approved policies
- Ensure that an effective and efficient system of internal control is functioning well at all times.
- Review monthly payroll (WPS) and benefits for all staff
- Continuous liaison with IT team for improvement to SAP Business One System
- Maintenance of chart of accounts, asset master data, business partner master data maintenance
- Managing streamline processes in SAP Business One such as user maintenance, posting periods, approval procedures and managing authorizations
