Resident Shariah Board Member (RSBM):
1. Attend meeting with Shariah Board (SB) and BOD as per the requirement
2. Oversee the procedures to be adopted for implementation of the resolutions, pronouncements and fatawa of the SB and provide guidance thereon with consultation of SB,
3. Provide explanation/clarification to management on products, documents, process flows and on other operational Shariah related matters,
4. Guide the SCD in conducting Shariah compliance reviews of key business areas on a test check basis.
5. Facilitate the SCD and Training Department in designing and conducting training activities.
6. Provide guidance to the Bank regarding the Shariah aspects of new products /ideas as and when required,
7. Respond to Shariah related queries of Bank's staff and clients regarding Islamic banking's products and services as and when required,
8. Submit a quarterly report to the SB, for ratification, of all the material explanations/clarifications provided on products, services, documents, process flows and other operational Shariah related issues
9. Maintain good / healthy relationship with Local Shariah Scholars,
10. Attend meeting, seminars etc. invited by SBP and other Local Islamic Financial Institutions / Experts
Appointed as Shariah Advisor of the transactions for K- Electric Limited to issue various Islamic Commercial Paper (ICPs) & Short Terms Sukuk (STSs) and for Azgard Nine Limited to Issue Islamic Sukuk, subsequently, reviewed and approved Shariah Structure, Legal & Transactional Agreements, provide Shariah consultancy, responds regulator, Industry, other stakeholder’s queries and issue Shariah compliance certificate etc.
