Data Acquisition Engineer at beureo of Geophysical Prospecting BGP, Saudi Arabia, CNPC
  • Saudi Arabia - Dammam
  • February 2024 to May 2024

As a Data acquisition engineer, I Participated in the following project led by BGP, CNPC, Saudi Arabia;
• KUTUF SOUTH 3D ARAMCO, Saudi Arabia
 During my tenure as a data acquisition engineer in Saudi Arabia, I played a key role in executing highresolution 2D and 3D seismic surveys which are aimed at hydrocarbon exploration and subsurface
characterization.
 My experience primarily involved the use of INOVA G3I system, renowned for its advanced data
acquisition capabilities and reliability in challenging environments.
 Led a team of field technicians in setting up and calibrating the INOVA G3I system, ensuring precise
placement and optimal performance of geophones, RAM, FTU, SAM, and vibrators.
 Supervised daily operations, coordinating the deployment of seismic sources and ensuring
synchronization with the recording system.
 Implemented real time monitoring of seismic data acquisition to promptly address any equipment or
data issues.
 Conducted thorough quality control checks to verify the integrity and accuracy of the acquired seismic
data. Utilize the advance features of the INOVA G3I system to enhance signal clarity reduce noise
interference.
 Geophones are deployed across the survey area to detect seismic waves reflected from subsurface
structures. Remote acquisition modules are deployed to collect and transmit seismic data from
geophones to the central recording system. Field testing units are used to test and ensure functionality
of geophones and other field equipment before deployment.
 Vibrators are the seismic energy sources used to generate controlled seismic waves for subsurface
imaging. Source acquisition modules (based on TDMA principle) are used to coordinate the firing of
seismic sources (vibrators) to ensure accurate timing and data synchronization.
 Acted as a primary point of contact between field crews, production manager, and geophysicists,
ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
 Maintained detailed records of all aspects of the seismic survey, including equipment used, data
acquisition parameters, and any operational issues encountered.
 Ensured all field operation adhered to BGP, Saudi Arabia’s stringent HSE regulations and company
policies. Conducted daily safety briefing and training sessions for the crew to promote a culture of
safety and environmental stewardship.

Data Acquisition Engineer at BGP, CNPC, International, Pakistan
  • Pakistan - Islamabad
  • October 2021 to February 2024

As a Data acquisition engineer, I Participated in the following projects led by BGP, CNPC, Pakistan;
• KHARAN 3D, PPL, Pakistan
• HISAL 2D and 3D, PPL and POL, Pakistan
• SORAH 2D and 3D, PPL, Pakistan
• MAKHAD 3D, POL, Pakistan
 During my tenure as a data acquisition engineer in Pakistan, I led the execution of advanced 2D and
3D seismic surveys aimed at exploring hydrocarbon reservoirs and mapping subsurface geology.
 The work involved utilizing the state-of-the-art Sercel 428XL system, known for its high channel count
and robust data acquisition capabilities.
 Led a team of technicians in setting up and calibrating the Sercel 428XL system, ensuring optimal
performance of geophones, LAUL, LAUX, Blaster short pro-II, LCI, DPG, and vibrators.
 Supervised daily field operations, coordinating the deployment of seismic sources (Explosions and
vibrators) and ensuring synchronization with the recording system.
 Implemented real-time monitoring of seismic data acquisition to address any equipment malfunctions
or data issues promptly.
 Line acquisition unit linear are the collected seismic data from geophones. Line acquisition unit
transverse expended the capacity of the seismic array. Field digitizing unit are installed for the
conversion of analog signal from geophones to digital signal.
 Repeater amplified and relayed signals over long distances, ensuring data integrity across extensive
survey areas. Vibrators are the seismic energy sources used to generate controlled seismic waves for
subsurface imaging
 Acted as the primary point of contact between field crews, production manager, ensuring seamless
communication and coordination.
 Maintained detailed records of all aspects of the seismic survey, including equipment used, data
acquisition parameters, and operational issues encountered.
 Ensured all field operation adhered to BGP, Pakistan’s HSE regulations and company policies.
Conducted regular safety briefing and training sessions for the crew to promote a culture of safety and
environmental stewardship.
