Job summary:
1.The Linux System Administrator, under the supervision of the Engineering manager maintains all of division's operational systems.
2.The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of servers and systems used for development and running division's applications.
3.The System Administrator will also conduct system analysis and development, with limited support and direction from professional staff, to keep our systems current with changing technologies.
4.As new technologies emerge and impact our systems, the System Administrator is expected to learn these technologies very quickly and resolve any problems involved in integrating new technologies with our systems.
5.The System Administrator is a key technical resource for other Staff members, providing advice, training and technical support for various projects.
6.In addition, the System Administrator works closely with professional technical staff in the engineering and customer solutions teams in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future deployments.
Specific Responsibilities:
1.Manages Linux servers and workstations ensuring smooth operation.
2.Manages and maintain local intra website.
3.Manages networking infrastructure services.
4.Plans and implements standard data backup infrastructures.
5.Plans and implements system security policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts.
6.Conducts growth analysis and capacity planning, and develops capital and operating budget proposals.
7.Documents the design of the operating environment.
8.Researches, evaluates, purchases, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary.
9.Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.
10.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
