• Develops, Deploys and maintains Instrumentation and Control system which includes designing of hardware and software functional specifications.
• Reviewing design documents, material submittals, shop drawings, O&M manuals and as-built documents.
• Provides construction supervision for Instrumentation and control systems.
• Coordinate Instrumentation, control and SCADA work with electrical (Power & Power Distribution), Mechanical, fire detection and fire fighting, field and control room instrumentation, sub systems etc.
• Attends Technical and coordination meetings.
• Reviews Instrumentation and control system related material submittal, shops drawings, and inspection reports
• Responds to RFIs, Engineering change orders, attend requisite meetings, drafts and publishes meeting minutes
• Generates detailed inspection criteria for all control system related work to ensure the quality of the contractors installations.
• Detects all equipment, subsystem and design defects, reports and overseas repairs to damaged utility facilities.
• Attends control system site testing & commissioning activities and attend/review factory acceptance tests.
• Accountable for all tasks related to proposals, design & engineering of control system projects.
• Review and recommend suppliers, techno-commercial evaluations of proposals, negotiations and compliance to the project requirements.
• Prepare/review of the following documents
Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s)
Instrument Index, Input & Output Lists and Instrument data sheet
System configuration for PLC\DCS and SCADA based Systems
Bill of Quantities and Equipment system specifications.
Control Panel Drawings
Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
Control Philosophy and Cause and Effect Diagrams
Cable Schedules and Interconnection Schedules.
• PLC/SCADA based system software development and logics implementation as per control philosophy
• Conducting FAT for the PLC/SCADA based control systems
• Commissioning of PLC/SCADA based systems and conducting SAT
• Co-ordinating with the procurement team and the project management team for the execution of projects.
• Accountable for all tasks related to proposals, design & engineering of control system projects.
• Leading team of automation engineers to design and execute control systems in compliance with client specifications, international standards.
• Leading team to complete project documentation, approvals, interface with clients.
• Attend technical discussions with client, consultant and interdepartmental design engineers / team members.
• Leading automation engineers to develop application software by providing detailed task breakdown for PLCs & HMIs and ensure the standardization is being adhered to.
• Leading the team for conducting FAT/SAT for the projects
• Interact with various project disciplines, project managements, client and consultants to ensure their requirements are being met on time and within budget.
• Review and recommend suppliers, techno-commercial evaluations of proposals, negotiations and compliance to the project requirements.
• Provide in-house technical support to team members for system developments, network implementations, troubleshooting & lead to resolve issues being faced in the project.
• Programming Alstom PLC and develop SCADA and HMI for Metal applications utilizing Proficy IFIX, machine edition and In-touch software tools.
• Interact, understand project specifications, requirements from the customer and develop the project schedules, organize resources.
• Conduct FAT and SAT with the client.
• Continuously monitor and ensure conformance to the agreed standards of quality of the work and time schedules.
• Conduct automation product trainings, for customers and end users.
• DCS application logic and HMI development for Boiler, Turbine and Balance of plant control system for Power plant application
• Conduct FAT, IFAT and SAT for the Power plant projects
• Commissioning of the DCS system for Power plant
• Integrating power plant auxiliary system with DCS using Modbus, OPC etc
• Configuration of Historian server and Reports in the DCS
• Provide training and technical support to the Client and plant operators
