Project Management from project inception (planning), through the design phase (conceptual, preliminary, and final) to the construction phase(implementation, monitoring/controlling & closing)
• Provide direction and oversee all processes and systems for project planning, implementation and monitoring
Identify appropriately skilled resources for projects. Assign project resources to project tasks, clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of project team members for project assignments. Regularly review project staffing level and make recommendations for the addition or elimination of project resources
Identify and manage project risks, mitigation & issues to closure, issues may include scope changes, budget changes, or schedule changes
Develop project budgets. Ensure effective monitoring over cost control, cost trending and forecasting the project cost
Monitor project schedules and ensure on-schedule project completion through effective controls and actions
Develop contracts for each project. Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors
Monitoring the specifications, requisitioning, ordering and delivery of required equipment and material for timely incorporation into the works
Collaborate with relevant stake holders such as design, construction, maintenance, procurement, finance, Warehousing, and others in carrying out the responsibilities, Coordinate and participate in Project Design Group meetings, value engineering sessions, construct-ability reviews and risk workshops, as required
Ensure inspection of works at closer of projects by all stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects and also complete all documents including as built drawings, O&M manuals etc., are handed over to operating team
Ensure staff safety at work, property and the existing services. Make necessary arrangement to ensure construction site free of hazard and avoid un-safe practices
Negotiate project assignments, task orders, amendments, change orders and make recommendations for approval
Review and analyze monthly payment and schedule submissions from consultants and contractors
Resolve any conflicts that may occur throughout the life of the project
Assist proactively in identifying and resolving potential field issues
Organize and prioritize workload
Follow up on actions required for task and project completion while seeking guidance as necessary
Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor or co-worker in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the Authority's Customer Service quality standard
• Promotes an atmosphere of team spirit through good example, open communication, good listening, and timely problem resolutions
• Ensures the development of sound predictive and preventative maintenance programs which will reduce unplanned shutdowns and continuously improve plant reliability, profitability and product quality
• Lead the Engineering Team in the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations
• Ability to deliver effectively under pressure stringent tasks, multiple deadlines and capability towards achieving departmental & organizational goals
• Supervisory skills, proactive participation, maturity, integrity, strong analytical skills & practical mindset. Initiates root cause analysis of equipment/machinery failures and develops suitable repair solutions or PM plan to reduce and/or possibly eliminate reoccurrence of failure.
• Leads multidiscipline and cross cultural teams of Electrical, Mechanical &Utilities departments consisting of Sr. Managers, Managers, Dy. Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Electricians, Fitters and Technicians
• Leads & motivates the department team by establishing and communicating a common goal
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering Department, provide feedback on performance, take corrective action, as required, and discuss possible areas for improvement of human resource, equipment, inventory, quality audit, productivity, and other objectives Leadership is shown through doing by own, sharing of knowledge and experience
• Ongoing training and development to foster a learning culture within the department.
• ensures compliance to financial policies, quality standards & safe system of work and practices
• Prepare Capital and Repairs and Maintenance budgets for Engineering
• prepares proposals for plant improvement, Future Expansion
• Uses initiative to meet and resolve challenges .ability of handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances / conflicts
• ensures proper inventory levels, time requisitions, technical analysis and follow up with relevant department
• strong and independent decisions making for operational activities, subject to policies and procedures
