My job responsibilities include:

• Responsible for planning, forecasting and budgeting and involved actively in strategic planning;
• Responsible for providing business support and analysis to the senior management team, including the CEO and General Manager Finance and Accounts;
• Develop a set of business reporting tools and dashboards for senior management;
• Focus will be on the various elements of costing and pricing repairs and maintenance services as well as tracking effectiveness and efficiency / productivity by any combination of: service type; location; department; outsourcer; insourcer; unit; etc;
• Timely and meaningful weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual financial reporting & financial analysis in the level of detail required by each internal and external user group;
• Effective cash flow management. Focus areas will include: capital efficiency management (working capital minimization and control; capex financial control management; capital employed barometers and strategies;
• As required, liaise with the internal and external stakeholders including other department (like supply chain, marketing and business development, factory and production management etc), government agencies, suppliers, consultants & advisors, internal auditors, external auditors;
• Identify financial and business risk areas. Lead actions to mitigate these risks. Focus areas will include but not be limited to:
a) Developing internal control as required by the business and by other interested parties;
b) Developing financial & accounting approaches, policies and procedures (including: Credit; Costing / Management Accounting; Transfer Pricing & management; CAPEX; Accounting; Risk Management; controls; budgeting & rolling forecasting) and ensuring their consistent effective and efficient functioning;
c) Ensuring appropriate depreciation and provision policies are in place and functioning effectively;
d) Ensuring adequate legal review policies of all contracts are in place and functioning. Participating in negotiations and reviews of all key contracts before finalization;
e) Ensuring effective compliance with policies and procedures;
f) Managing all matters pertaining to any applicable taxation (i.e. Income tax, sales tax, federal excise duty, zakat (capital Tax); withholding taxes; etc.);
g) Supervising the accounting and finance team, ensure the team is geared towards providing the necessary support; actively mentor and develop the team members; and
h) Working with General Manager Finance and Accounts and Chief Executive Officer to prepare for next stages of expansion.
• Works with the management and provides relevant financial data for the development of yearly budget and cash flows;
• Manages day-to-day financial transactions of the assigned companies, ensuring that it is in line with the agreed budgets and plans;
• Maintains a detailed analysis of management accounts identifying key variances from budget for inclusion in the monthly Finance reports and determines financial status of the assigned companies;
• Oversees cash management through proper supervision of balance sheets and income statements;
• Manages the Accounts Receivable process to ensure that all overdue debt collection procedures are followed;
• Manages the Accounts Payable process to ensure that all supplier agreements are conformed with and that all payments are made within company terms;
• Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses and expenditures;
• Verifies journal and ledger entries of cash and payments purchases, expenses and trial balances by examining and auditing inventory items;
• Reviews daily position / activity report;
• Reviews of filing of income tax, sales tax and other statutory returns; and
• Corresponds with income tax and sales tax authorities during audits of income tax, sales tax, FED and WHT monitoring audits.
