Summary

•Hands-on experience in all aspects of Process engineering applications in Refinery as well as Petrochemical complex for UOP Naphtha Hydrotreating, Continuous Catalyst Regeneration (CCR), Platforming, Diesel Max (mild hydro-cracking), Diesel Hydro Desulphurization (DHDS) and Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH Oleflex) plants.
•Preparation of Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for new projects in collaboration with licensors.
•Developing long term Process Engineering projects to improve plant availability and profitability.
•Preparation of the techno economic studies including the technology selection, catalyst and chemical selection for the new as well as existing projects.
•Process Engineering design work for plant modifications and capital projects under Management of Change (MOC i.e to carry out technical and HAZOP studies), which consists of engineering calculations, development of PFDs, P&IDs, Plot plans, data sheets etc as per relevant codes and standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, NFPA and pre-startup safety reviews etc.
•Assist and monitor the operational activities in accordance with Safety, Health & Environment and with organizational strategies and operational profit, reliability, and environmental requirements.
•Facilitate HAZOP Studies as PHA Leader and LOPA/SIL determination.
•Provide necessary support to OME team member before/after daily meetings to ensure high level of safety performance and comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
•Perform the day-to-day work in order to increase refinery/ petrochemical profit, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards.
•Ensure accurate production in terms of quality and quantity as directed by process Engineering Superintendent and ensure the correct implementation of the guidelines provided by Process Engineers.
•Supervise critical operational activities such as start-up, shutdown, performance guarantee tests, catalyst/adsorbrnt change, and provide technical support to the Shift Supervisors throughout these activities. Ensure the implementation of operational procedures and ensure correct application of operational tools.
•Advice and provide input for developing the budget for chemicals and utilities consumption and expenditure of materials (bulk material, tools, and work wear).
•Attend daily and weekly meetings with Maintenance Engineering and Planning Superintendent to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities. Provide instructions to the operation in order to optimize units in accordance with the daily scheduling plan and prepare the unit/equipment for planned maintenance activities.
•Experience to prepare bar charts and plan turnaround related activities including shutdown /start-up and other activities.
•Full command on utilizing the features of Process History Data Software (PICS) and PI process book for better plant monitoring, production planning and optimization.
•Prepare Standard Operating Procedures for implementation of Integrated Management System.
•Utilization of process simulation softwares like Unisim, Hysys, WinSim Process Simulator “DESIGN -II” and Pro-II

• Monitor Plant operation of Naphtha Hydrotreating, CCR-Platforming, Diesel Max, Diesel Hydro Desulphurization (DHDS) and Provide full technical support to operation department for the smooth operation of the units.
• Preparation of material balance, fuel & energy i.e electric power, fuel gas, fuel & steam conservation at the units.
• Optimization of chemical consumption.
• Plan & Evaluate Performance Test runs to determine capacity limitations and bottlenecks in operating parameters to maximize product yields & unit throughput.
• Organizing system performance monitoring to identify potential problems of major equipments especially Packinox combined feed exchanger, compressors, turbines, pumps and exchangers.
• Monitor and evaluate performance evaluation of catalyst of CCR-Platforming and Diesel Max units.
• Issuing the monthly plant health reports.
• Liaising with UOP to share technical matter related to catalyst performance, plant problems, modifications and new technologies.
• Liaising with Packinox to share technical matter related to Packinox Heat Exchanger.
• Involve in Operation of Steam Turbine, Recycle Gas and Net Gas compressor (start up & shutdowns).
• Carrying out computer simulation models and other advance techniques to achieve optimum plant performance.
• Conduct Periodic Heat Exchangers/Coolers engineering approach for analyzing performance of these equipments.
• Developing Excel based computer programs for process plants monitoring, yield prediction, Heater efficiency, do Energy balance, Material balance and Dynamic views of Refinery Units. Involved fully with raw materials & products inventory management & preparation of production reports.
