DANS project I and II:
At CIDT, an Egyptian-Dutch NGO, my position entails the following duties:
Working as the DANS project coordinator and Research Assistant for the “Arab West Report” which serves as a Database/online platform for CIDT, which is home to over 40, 000
Egyptian documents including audio-recorded interviews, academic reports, summary translations of Arabic media, and media critique. The DANS Project is an initiative with the
Dutch Data Archiving Networked Services organization.
The project entails the classification and preparation of all 40, 000 documents from the Arab-West report database to be uploaded on the DANS database. The goal of the DANS
Project is to make the Arab West Report data more accessible to academic researchers, NGOs, and governmental organizations interested in doing more research on Egypt.
Specifically in the area of Muslim-Christian Relations.The task also entails language editing, translation, transcription of interviews.
The Classification process involves setting the main categories of the theme of the articles and indexing them, classify the names of the locations involved and last but not least the
names of persons and organizations.
on the onset of the project, I created a hierarchy design of the names of cities and locations highlighted in the database and created expository datasets of the metadata of the
articles classified.
-The AWR /Center for Arab-Wes Understanding serves as a platform for Intercultural and Inter-religious dialogue and creating better understanding between the Arab and West
world.
-Major achievements during my post’s tenure is being credited as a part of the editors of Interview Transcript for the book “From Ruling to Opposition “ … Islamist Movements and
Non-Islamist Groups in Egypt 2011-2013 written by Dr. Cornelis Hulsman, the editor in Chief of AWR. The book will be published during the third quarter of 2016 Tectum
Publishing, Vienna University in hard copy and digital form and will be uploaded to Arab West report website.
- Arab-West Report is focused on promoting a better Muslim-Christian understanding. Upon the conclusion of the DANS project, a certificate and a letter of recommendation was
issued by the CAWU.
= - Translation of Arabic news summaries into English:
UuMy duties included the translation of news summaries from Arabic into English and the process included uploading them onto the database and classifying them.

Freelance Translator :
Freelance Translator (2013-2014)
- Worked as a freelance translator for a number of Cultural Centers and organizations including Goethe Institute in Cairo, and for independent filmmakers and researchers.

- Worked for one month at the news room of Al Anandolu Agency in Cairo (ME office ) as a translator / editor (October 2013).

Fixer (2013)

- Worked with a number of Foreign Journalists in Cairo, as a fixer, helped them arranging interviews and did translation during interviews.

- Freelance Translator: * -worked for independent human rights organizations and independent NGOs, translating their reports and statements from time to time. These reports were mainly on women rights, sexuality and political and religious freedom. It also monitored the violations of human rights taking place in the region. NGOs including Insan INTL based in Spain, non - profit, non-governmental human rights, democracy and development organization.
