As a sole in-charge of the listed services, my job duties range from being accountable for marketing strategies, client relationships, risk mitigations and increased profits of the liner services. .
• Optimizing cargo composition and asset utilization.
• Marketing lines products effectively and strategically.
• Identify market opportunities, Key accounts and submit business proposal to the trade management.
• Market Performance analysis and reporting.
• Manage sales calls, customer profile maintenance, sales reporting, handle rate requests, communicate with trade managers, negotiate, and confirm/offer rates.
In this position, as a representative of country line manager, managing activities of OOCL and Hamburg Sud lines under liner department as agent in Jeddah was the key role .
Major responsibilities handled are managing activities of vessel and cargo operations, Equipment management, Import & Export Documentation & Customer Service .
For OOCL, I have lead a team of eleven members successfully achieving line's KPI targets.
Hamburg Sud, being a new opportunity came in 2015, management appointed me to build up a strong team . I have successfully completed the task assigned and handed over to the successors after proper training in order to take over the new challenge of sales in charge in the emergency of sudden exit of existing Sales supervisor.
Coordinating Operations of assigned shipping lines under liner agency department. Major duties are
• Vessel registration, port operations, notifications & reporting.
• Import, export & transshipment cargo operations planning and coordination.
• Check and approve vendor invoices.
• Obtain approvals for DG/OOG cargos from concerned authorities and internal /external desks
• Responsible to attend all correspondence related to vessel and cargo operations.
• Make sure accuracy of reports and data related to port, vessels & cargo movements
I joined as a beginner and worked in different departments as employees during their vacations. It was a great opportunity to learn and exercise major tasks to be handled by a shipping professional. My duties ranged from Vessel registration , pre-arrival documents preparations, crew management, vessel/ports movements coordination and reporting, , Rate filing, booking confirmation/approval and release, Manifesting, BL preparations, Invoicing & Management reporting.
