• Supervises and coordinates the activities of all Operations, Maintenance and Safety & Fire personnel within his assigned operating areas on shift basis.
• Monitor and Operate field as well as DCS operations of Nylon 6, 6 continues polymerization plant.
• Perform various control logic system to operate DCS (Emerson Delta V)
• Understanding and applying Chevron OE (Operation excellence) and Tenets of operation.
• Correspondence with process technology provider (DuPont, USA) relating to operating commissioning issues.
• Review Commissioning, Master Startup and operating procedures against P&ID, Isometric drawings and plant 3D model (Navisworks)
• Communicate and execute plant commissioning and start up plans for assigned areas in coordination with joint commissioning teams of DuPont and Jacobs.
• Check P&IDS reference against plant 3D model, equipment data sheets, line classification, security and safety interlocks, and Process simulator logics interlocks.
• Review vendor commissioning procedures and develop commissioning and Master Startup procedures.
• Develop operation readiness plans including MC walk down, PSSR (Prestart up safety review) for plant.
• Preparation of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for different critical jobs.
• Loop Check activity, PSSR Studies and Checklist Preparation documents.
• Ensure proper documentation and monitors key operating parameters.
• Preparation of Punch Action Item list for Commissioning Start up unit .
• Controls operating plant start-ups, shutdowns and emergencies. Includes controlling the alterations of speeds, temperatures, pressures and flow rates as necessary.
• Knowledge & performing Work Permitting and Lock out Tag out activities.
• Attends the departmental safety, health and good housekeeping meetings. Participates in plant inspection tours, and takes active participation in implementing company policies of safety, health, and loss prevention and quality management.
• Trains & mentors new team members.
